***Official 2010 F1 thread***

One-upmanship, ego's and attitude problems are killing one of the best sports in the world.

When are people going to realise this and get over themselves?

They should be serving the fans of the sport, not their own agendas.

Mosley and Ecclestone need giving the boot, bunch of idiots. Honestly if i saw them down the street id kick both of them in the shins and tell them to grow up.

Is the figure of around 50% of money in F1 being in bernies pocket correct?

Interesting.....
You know, for an organisation that according to some on here is rabidly pro-Ferrari, they don't seem to be doing much pro-Ferrari-ing right now....;)
Heh... good point :D

I've just watched the 18-minute interview with Max Mosley that stormrider's linked to; ol' Max filled up a lot of that time with carefully considered, seemingly forthright answers that didn't hedge or appear to have spin applied.

For 18 minutes. At least a dozen questions.

That's one lucky idiot.

Came across this on another forum

Possible slogans on the Ferrari car livery next year if they are forced to enter F1 ...
"Who KERS about this car?"
"Formula Gone"
"0-60 1.6s --- F1 to FOTA, next channel"
"We're spending more on the other series"
"This paint was actually sponsored by Mercedes and Renault"
"Max OUT!"
"Bernie loves Max"
"We're testing... do not impede"
"Williams... let's go"

Excellent news, the FOTA & the FIA are splitting and now on OcUK, we have two threads discussing the same issues: "***Official 2010 F1 thread***" & "FOTA to form breakaway F1 Championship!" :p

Come off it anyone can bang a list of tracks together, whose paying for all this the teams?

I don't think it will happen. but there is no reason the teams and sponsor can not bankroll. it afterall nearly all the manufacturers, drivers and sponsors will go.

I'm sure they realise they can not "run" it themselfs and will appoint someone like the fia. Just with better contracts to ensure the teams have far more say on rules and of course more money.

Surely they CANT ask the FIA to look after it as so many seem to have issues with MM ? I agree that some kind of official body has to do it though - why not the group of car manufacturers that recently came out in support of FOTA (I cant think what their official name was, Association of European CarMakers or something)

I would also be VERY surprised if any current (as of next year) F1 track would be able to host a similar series

he said "ask someone like the FIA" ie another motorsport governing body. I doubt he ment ask the FIA. :)

people talking about costs also forget that the FIA take a lot of money off the Teams each season too. so thats even more money they can "spend".

The FIA is a non profit organisation, whoever governs the 'new' series will take just as much in operating costs.

Your confusing the money Bernie takes out with the FIA surely? Bernies the promotor as such.
