***Official 2010 F1 thread***

Could it not just be that Anthony Hamilton isn't popular with Pitpass? It's hardly a professional outfit, I would take anything they say with a pinch of salt.

what happen to the Silverstone 48hr to sign thing, its almost a week.

is there any news?

EDIT

yep 1 week

Just seen JA tweet about this, dunno if it means there's still negotions going on or what.

Jamesallenonf1 #f1 I'm hearing positive noises on Silverstone, some big government names seem to have got involved now..one very big indeed..

For a company rumored to supposedly be trying to dump McLaren, they werent half making one hell of a big thing of being partnered with McLaren at the Mercedes Live event at the weekend. To the extent that Button appeared on a 20 second video clip, while Lewis "2008 World Champion" Hamilton was centre stage in his "all conquering McLaren Mercedes!"

Didnt look like a firm trying to loosen its ties with McLaren to me....

They would be contracted to do that though - and at the end of the day any advertising is good advertising as the saying goes.

I really wouldnt be surprised if Brawn name disappeared (would be a real shame though) only for the silver arrows to re-appear - personally cant stand the thought of a combination Orange Silver Arrows - I just cant see it gelling (although I can certainly see Orange being a big sponsor to combat Vodafone)

Thats because you don't know the people that write for the site. Its the most professional F1 site I know. They never run a story without good grounding and don't print rumours they cannot back up. For that reason people within F1 go to them with very good information safe in the knowledge he won't reveal the total information.

When I used to be involved with the site he shared some emails with me on F1 that opened my eyes in a whole new way on what was going on.

I and all my friends that used to help out detest the owner but I'd put my house on it that he has information coming from mclaren and they want his father out the way.

They are not a tabloid site, they don't have to protect a paddock pass. Some of the info he passed onto me months before the event passing was staggering so despite our falling out I still respect where he gets his information.

.

fair play:D

I would say that emails are usually one person's view point - who may (or may not) be even slightly external to the situation and not be privvy to everything going on

Just like posts on here - not mentioning any names at all lol - can be presented as fact when in actual fact they are a pretty biased that ignores other proven facts;)

Have I missed / forgotten about an announcement somewhere?

James Allen is claiming that Ferrari is supplying 3 teams with engines (themselves, Torro Rosso, but who is the third) ?
http://www.itv-f1.com/Feature.aspx?Type=James_Allen&id=47400

In the space of 12 months Cosworth’s return to F1 has gone from being a Max Mosley idea which many teams scoffed at, to being a lifeline for them.

The Northampton engine builder will supply at least five of the 13 teams next year. Mercedes and Ferrari will supply three and Renault two.

The man who wants more street races to boost awareness... God forbid we build them for racing.
