Perez needs a win more than ever. Everything goes away if he wins. He has to silence the critics with a performance. He needs to get it into his head that he is good, the car is good, and not to over drive it.

Checo will be swapping with Danny....

Would imagine Checo has the next 2 weekends to save his bacon, needs to get up the front row at least!

Think Danny Ric would need to impress at Alpha before they'd take a chance on him though as no guarantee he'd do any better. Who would you then bring in at Alpha? Lawson I guess...

You would hope Lawson would get it but they seem keen to avoid interfering with his Super Formula season in Japan.
That said there's only two weekends left now, 1 at the end of August and then October, with only the October one clashing with F1 (Mexico)

It would be a direct swap. Don't think Danny Ric needs to even impress much, as long as he doesn't mess it up. Putting him back in RB seat makes sense just from PR point of view.

Can you see Perez wanting to be in an Alpha Tauri for the rest of the season? If they are brutal enough to remove him and put Ricciardo in, they'll need to give De Vries a ring and beg him to get him back in the car (as I don't think they have anyone else?)

I'm sure he won't like it but I'd imagine he'd rather be on the grid than not. Honestly I can't see them doing the swap this season, if they were going to do it then they would have done it this weekend. Though unless Checo miraculously turns his season round I think he's out and Danny will be in that seat next season. RB and to extent F1 will need characters like Ricciardo to be driving to keep the audience interested if RB continues to dominate.

I don't think RBR give two stuffs about being popular if they keep winning, and if they think someone blander and more boring (than Ricciardo) is available that would be better than Perez they would hire them.
