Installed my new card today and has a 70% ASIC (faulty one was 60%) and I think this one is actually working properly thank god! :D

Idle is 2 celsius higher than my old one at 34 Celsius compared to 32 Celsius, but max temps with LtMatt's BIOS and 1100/1400 overclock are 80 Celsius in Sleeping Dogs which is fine by me! :)

Installed my card today (IceQ Boost) idles at 35c but when fan speed reaches 40% I get a whirring sound that get worse the higher it goes.......hopefully OCUK accept a return to check the fan for the bearing or something.

got my new card installed yesterday and had a little overclocking session on haven.
I upped the power limit to +20% left the boost on for now
and started increasing the core singularly to see how high it could go alone and got it upto
1200mhz tried 1250mhz at 1.25v but it crashed.
then i did the same with the memory and got it upto 1800mhz and thought there is really no point going any higher. i did put my fans upto 100% during this and my temps stayed around 60c
then i benched it at
core 1150
memory 1600
score 1013
I then looked at finding a sensible gaming clock that won't hammer the card on long gaming runs
so settled with
core 1150
memory 1450
obviosly this is a quick summary but if your interested i can post all the workings with
fps, score, min fps and max fps.
Overall I'm very happy with the card its a great bit of kit especially with the deal that is on at the moment!:D

Ok folks here is the new look HIS 7950 Ice-Q NON Boost bios. This version corrects a very small bug that would leave the card with a slightly higher idle voltage than normal. It was 0.950mv instead of 0.850 or 0.800mv. This should now run at 0.800mv allowing for slightly cooler idle temps. If there is any problems let me know and Kaboom will increase the idle voltage to 0.850mv.

I'm about to update both of my cards now, so enjoy. :)

EDIT

Fired off a mail to Tommy to update the OP.

EDIT2

Bios link removed. See the OP or 2ND Post for the new bios version. Slight bump to idle voltage to stop a crash.

Bios safely flashed. Voltages looking correct. Includes my Ice-Q optimised fan profile settings as well. :)

EDIT

My memory reads 1.5v because i under volted via msi afterburner, as at low clocks of (stock) 1250mhz, 1.6v is not needed for my cards.

Ulps is enabled by default each driver change so you need to change it again.

Alternatively, if you are using W7, you can use reg files for ease of use, I have added them to the op.:)

If anyone knows of W8 reg entries to disable ulps, send them in please.

Hey guys, ok finally got round to installing my His IceQ 7950. Removed my GBWFX3 7950 and left the drivers as is, put the IceQ in the same slot and voila...... nothing! No beeps from the motherboard (usually get three beeps and boot) the card is powered up and everything else is lit up, just a black screen and then a message saying, 'no signal detected'. Checked all the connections, all ok, doesn't appear to boot into windows though to be honest its an SSD so cant hear anything anyway.

So switched off, took the IceQ out and put my old card back in and voila...... got my three beeps and booted into windows, phewww..... So what do you think is up guys, I seem to recall a thread 2 or 3 weeks ago where someone had a similar scenario and a simple motherboard bios update fixed it. :( :)

4.15pm away to work guys, would appreciate any advice. Thanks and will check later. :)

That low voltage BIOS causes my system to hang on a black screen three times in World of Warcraft and on Sleeping Dogs as soon as the games we're opened. Was fine in 2D mode pottering around windows/web browsing though... Flashed three times to make sure, but same every time. Reverted back to the original 925/1250 BIOS and all is well again!

See my post further back. Added a new version of it with slightly higher idle voltage. Also added to 2nd post. Tommy will update OP later. Working well so far for me. Try it and let me know. Can always re-tweak if needed.

I've noticed just now that most programs read off the voltages of cards bios, as they probably don't recognise the modded code. MSI AB Beta 14 works stable with this BIOS and changes the votlages to what you set it to.

My 24/7 OC
Core: 1000mhz 1.037v Mem: 1350 1.500v
Fan custom 45% = 50c, 55% = 60c, 65%=70, 80% = 80c :)

EDIT:
Lowering the the voltages helped me to drop 3c in load and 1c in idle :)
