With regards to physical layout, the 8-pin 12v connector is in a bit of a stupid position, particularly when you have a large HSF assembly.

Actually that depends what type of case you have i find this position perfect for
my akasa eclipse the ds3 etc have it in pretty much the same position.

i may be being stupid, but how do you update the bios on this board?
put the bios files on usb and cd and tryed booting off them and nothin, how you guys do it? im prob missing something obvious!
im used to asus easy flash :P

Ordering mine tomorrow for a saturday delivery
made a mistake ordering the gigabyte p35 ds3p
always wanted a quad gt and this looks to be the
quad gt of the p35 world cannot wait to get my hands on this
found it alarming at first that it is outperformed by the gigabyte p35 dsr
but am assured bios updates will fix this still not 100% sure it's worth £125
though still a little bit of doubt creeping in.
The thing is it has to do things that an £85 p35 board cannot do
and i'm having a little trouble seeing what that is.
Knowing me i'll just bite the bullet and buy it anyway.
It's ALARMING to say the least that it's not even on the abit support section there's nothing for it no utility's no bios nothing it's not even listed.
EDIT:Ordered it for saturday delivery sod it hope it's worth it.

Just set mine up set the 6420 to 3.2 ghz stock voltage
was a breeze no issues as of yet cant test it properly
as i have had to use the intel cooler as i sold my ds3
and left the tuniq tower backplate in that box by mistake just crossing fingers the guy will send it back.
TAT doesn't work at all coretemp does which is ok it's usually 2-3 degrees under tat.
Very impressed with this board so far.
Only slight niggle the led connectors could be a bit nearer further away from the bottom pci slot.
Loving the lcd display

ah worked out the bios update out now , thanks. Bloody software was on the mobo driver cd lol.

quite happy with board
-cpu runs a bit toastier at high vcore for some reasoncompared to my p5n32...
-dodgy molex position in between graphics cards, asus board didnt even have one...
-seperate memory speed setting would have been nice (maybe *** bios)
- abit seem a bit lazy in the bios releasing dept

+no fsb dead zones like my 680i had
+ noticabley quicker board at the same clocks as before
+ cheap
+ lovely recovery from high clocks, havnt had to make use of the handy reset cmos button
+chipsets run well cool in comparison to most
+uguru a lot less buggy than ntune was

any way my max clock is 3.86ghz with my e6420
best orthos stable got to date is 3.68ghz

*** Link to clock screenies ***

Very impressive this board especially the chipset temps
40c under overclocking nice.
Had a scare after updating bios to beta3 had to do a hard reset it didnt reboot
after the update.
seperate memory speed setting would have been nice (maybe *** bios)?
what separeate memory setting?
you mean set the timings etc? you can do that and the 1t command and cl3 will be in a bios update.

nah seperate clock speed adjustments m8, the 2 ratios it can give me at 3.76ghz atm are 940Mhz or 11xxMhz (cant rem exactly) so underclocked or very overclocked..... but itd be nice to have the RAM stock of 1066Mhz

I'm looking to replace my POS P5n32-E SLi. This badboy appears to fit my specs with an E6300 and 2x1GB Ballistix PC-6400. Not sure which to choose from the P35/Pro/-E though.

Im a bit of an r-tard when it comes to fiddly components, so actually how easy is it to use this board? Also, is it worth waiting for a possible revision where they move the molex's around or just go for it? Also, i've tried to look for myself (r-tard remember) but from what i understand it's still a beta bios? or am i misguided. which is likely.

thanks, sorry i suck.

I doubt that they'll move the molex but tbh unless running 2 power hungry gfx cards in CF (& imo in that position you're unlikely to choose a P35) you're unlikely to need it.
The shipping BIOS is solid out of the box by all reports but there are several betas as they try to add further functionality/improve performance.

Personally I would get the Pro (except that I'm holding out for X38 :D ).

as far as i know theres been 4 betas since stock, all of which work fine.

yeah no chance with the molex move id say.

go pro! :) its a great price for the top of the 3 board range. + the fact that the pro uses different bios's to the other 2 maybe means something...dont ask me what lol!

i terms of plugging stuff in its well like your p5n32 except for the molex so you should be fine :) i moved to this from the p5n. its an improvement but id really struggle to justify the cash, especially being a student. if you got a spare 125 sitting around and your other componants are great id go for it! but p5n was great too

+ Scoobie , you fired your bad boy up yet? :P

Dont believe my luck. One day I might just trust my instincts. It seems my pc decided to lock up whilst trying to flash with the abit windows bios updater. I knew I should not used that ***p piece of software, now my pc wont post properly all it does now is display a little bit of bios writing and thats it.

From what I can tell it seems to have a bios chip that you can take out. So now I have got to wait a couple of days til I get a new bios chip

This is so annoying, its like the dfi days - its my own fault though for thinking windows bios updates were safe.

Im just gonna find a mallet and smack myself in the head for being so stupid  :p
