The whole RAM thing is confusing me nothing like my 680i board. Think it needs a BIOS update aswell.
Yes, RAM on nVidia & Intel are different-ish.
You can get beta BIOS in the abit USA forum beta BIOS sticky.

Dont think TAT works on this board it dont on mine anyway. Dont think is works in Vosta aswell and CoreTemp dont work in Vista.

I urge people not to use abits flash menu with this board
just buggered mine recently and Yes by default flashmenu has
bootblock ticked seriously put me off abit for life this has
i have never had a bad flash or crash on any other board using a windows
utility.I am going to see if i can save it via a floppy bought one today and had issues the drive refuses to format or read any floppy discs just my luck taking it
back to shop tomoz to get a different model that hopefully reads HD floppy disks. Will let you know how i get on it should be abits responsibility to send you a replacement bios chip imho if their buggy software crashes and causes a bad flash.

Uguru

Very interested in this board. Also interested in Uguru. 3 quick questions:

1. My understanding is that Uguru allows typical overclocking changes to be carried out in Windows instead of BIOS. Correct? If so what degree does it allow? FSB changes, mulitplier, vcore, everything you can do in BIOS?

2. Do all Abit IP35 boards support Uguru? Or is it just for the Pro version?

3. I am not a hardcore overclocker. Is Uguru the sort of tool for the likes of me? For those that use it, what are your views about it?

Thanks in advance.

1) fsb, lots of voltages you can change in Windows.
CPU multis & CPU:RAM ratios you can't

2) Only the Pro has uGuru in the IP35 range

3) Quite possibly.
I tend to use it more for the fan control/hardware monitoring plus I also setup the 3 user profiles how I like & use those rather than the factory presets.
I usually have something like an underclocked, very quiet setup for browsing etc., a medium overclocked/ medium noise setup & a somewhat more overclocked but noisier setup for gaming.

Looks like I was not the only one who was unluck then! :(

Does anyone know how you can make a bootable bios cd?

If so can you post all instructions and links on how to do this as it maybe very helpful to other users to.

there's a sticky on the abit USA forum on how to flash using an USB memory stick.

I tried that but I could not get it to work. I think my problem is that I dont have the windows dos files to include on the flash drive. If anyone knows of where I can get the suitable files that would be a massive help!

The link for the guide is here for anyone who wants to look at it:
http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread.php?t=121953

Where can you get the DOS files for it?

:)

has anyone experienced any problems with this board using GEIL memory? I have the Geil ultra PC6400 and when i had xp and vista installed was experiencing major stability issues. I formatted and was trying to install xp again last night but couldn't even get that far!

Going through the install process as we speak now, but not holding out too much hope that things will be ok this time around :(

Their have been updates to the drivers, I have only just updated them on this thread - see the dates next to the corresponding driver for when I updated them.

On another note, I have listed below a link to the a Revised Edition of the Manual i.e Revision 1, I'm not sure what has changed but it has also been added to the IP35-PRO section on the ABIT Website.

English Version (Revison 2) April 2007

The above link is now also on first thread which I posted.

Just recieved my E6850 Batch# L719B027  will finally get round to building my new rig!

Try here.
It may look drawn out, but it's comes with burning software (so you don't need instructions for NERO etc).
It's just like booting to a floppy :)

Take notice of the notes though.
I call it BCD1 etc.

Cheers for that.

I have to say I would love to use the USB flash drive method, all I need is the dos files for it. Its annoying that in the guide it tells you everything to do but does not have a link for the DOS files that you need.

I dont suppose you (or anyone else for that matter) know where you can get them from as im sure it would be quite benificial to a lot of people around here and probably easier than the CD method.
