**Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

Well I got my new memory today and everything is a-ok

no, no, no. im asking the other voltage settings, MCH, ICH etc.
as i THINK those are common to everyone using this board.

CPUVcore is dependent on how lucky one is with CPU.

My Q6600 at 3.8ghz (423x9) -

VTT - 1.23v
MCH - 1.37v
ICH - 1.09v
ICHIO - 1.55v
GTLREF - 67%

So only the MCH voltage has been given more than a slight nudge, and even then it's only 0.12v over stock. There's no real need to touch the chipset voltages til you're over 400mhz.

Wonder if anywhere accepts memory back if it dosent work in the motherboard??? cos Im really temped to get another 4gb in my system while prices are low. Cos in a year or so when I need another 4gb the prices will be like ddr1 memory... What do you think I sud do guys?

I know OcUK will accept it bacjk under the Distance Selling laws providing you haven't made a mess of the packaging.

Which 4gb kit are you thinking of getting?

Im not too sure about that tho cos puts more stress on controllers. But my main concern if it does work will I still be able to run my E8400 at 3.6 with the mem still at the default speed of 400??
Cos my amd 939 system was useless with 4 sticks, had to drop the speed quite away to make it stable. In the end I removed the extra mem cos the speed drop was noticable.

Edit: Also dose anyone know if vista 32bit will boot up ok with 8gb of mem? Yeh I know it only sees 3.3gb, but like I said I dont need any more memory atm, I just want to get more before the prices rise

I've my Q6600 running at 3.9ghz and 8gb running at 846mhz. It just need a little more MCH voltage than 4gb.

x86 Vista should run fine with 8gb inserted.

Thanks, that put my mind a bit more at ease. Anyone runnig 8gb of my type of memory? "Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-18"

Rather than start a new thread thought I would ask a question in here instead, hope that’s ok guys.

I am thinking of getting the IP35 Pro but notice it has a 8 pin power connector at the top but my PSU only has the standard 4 pin one, does this mean it won't work with my PSU?

Also does anyone know if the Asus Silent Square Pro CPU Cooler will fit ok on the IP35 Pro?

Thanks in advance guys. :)

you can use a 4 pin , it fits into the 8 pin socket - shows you where in the manual

i have mine setup with the 4 pin

Can anyone with Crucial Ballistix tell me what volts they are giving it?

I have 4 x 1Gb and it was happy in my DS3 with 2.1v yet now some of it errors at that voltage in the IP35, I'm hoping the ram hasnt died, we all know Crucial is famous for it.

Have you tried increasing the North Bridge? MCH by 0.1v?
