**Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

I'm currently on 420 * 7.5x (3.15ghz).

Bios settings below (using bios 16):

CPU: 1.32V
MCH: 1.37V
CPU VTT: 1.27V
ICHIO: 1.55V
ICH: 1.09V
GTLREF: 67%

Its fully stable, hoping a new bios might help push the fsb further.

Ordered another 4gb of mem today, and just installed the 64bit version of vista so it will take advantage of the 8gb. I sooooo hope it works and I wont have to lower the speed of anything to get it working/stable???

you wont notice ANY difference with 8gb, virtually no-one will notice any difference between 3gb and 4gb, i would saved the £££ instead mate. Get the e8500 cpu instead of something.

I dont need 8gb atm but in 1 - 2 years I will, but then ddr2 will be well exspensive then, cos ddr3 will be taken off by then, So im hopeing to save mony in the long run by getting 8gb now, ppl says vista flys wilth 8gb??

You wont be saving money, 4gb kits are still relatively expensive, they will be a lot cheaper by then. Literally 8gb wont be used unless your computer is going to be a server, for normal use users dont use more than 3gb.

with 4gb of mem, the latest games including OS uses between 60 - 70% of the 4gb,, so it wont be that long before games and OS eats all the 4gb up?? Edit: another 4gb of mem, the same as Ive got now(see in sig) costed me £58, £65 inc p&p.

you would get better performance getting 4gb of ram that overclocks better though, my kit costs around £80 and overclocks between 1080-1120. Nothing will use more than 4gb for atleast 18months.

Just as long as I can keep the cpu at 3.6 and memory at its default speed of 400(800) then im happy,, if not I will be returning the memory

i assume you are using 400*9? if so you could use a multiplier in bios and choose 1:1.25 ratio. This will make your ram run at 1000mhz. Your board will likely let you use a fsb of 440 or something though. 440*8 = 3.52ghz, your fsb would be at 430, your cpu at 3.52ghz and ram at 1100mhz or turn it down to 1:1.20 multiplier to make it 1056.

Your computer would be a lot faster like this than to use your current settings and have 8gb ram.

You shouldn't really need to touch the nb too much. 400mhz FSB isn't going to tax the board or the quad. If that's four 1gb sticks of memory you have, then you'll need to add ~0.1v to boost the nb.

I'm pretty sure that I've seen a guy on another forum say that the Ninja fits.Once you get it please confirm so that we can get the #1 post updated with the info.

Well now running stable at 3.4Ghz 8 x 425?from memory.

But I have discovered a weird problem with latest cpu-z

If I leave cpu-z running with prime95 it hangs within 5 minutes even at 3Ghz. Hangs within 5 seconds at 3.4Ghz.

Not running cpu-z I can run prime for 8 hours+ without error.

Caused me all kinds of grief trying to overclock. I had got to 1.6v in bios trying to get 3.2Ghz stable without success and I had almost resigned myself to the fact I had a poor oc chip.

Just to give it a real test I even ran a video encoding, prime95 small tft and 3dmark06 all at the same time and it didn't even miss a beat.

Are you running the Abit software too? It and CPU-Z had problems running together at one stage IIRC.

Yeah I am. That might explain it then. I'm just miffed I have wasted hours and hours of trying to overclock stable now. :(

Got it currently at 1.4v in bios, 1.35v in windows and 1.31v under load at 3.4Ghz.

Looks promising for more so will try 3.6 next.

Just for a laugh I tried your settings for 3.8 (or was it 3.9?) and it pretty much bombed out straight away - I figured it would. ;)

I have not had to alter anything but vcore yet so my hopes are high at acheiving 3.6/3.8 stable.

Great mobo and thanks for the recommendation Cob.

The only problem I can find is when I went for your overclock the pwm temps hit 100C + just before it crashed

I think I might be spending the weekend doing the heatsink bolt mod, new thermal compound.
