Applied the serial i got to my EU beta account and worked fine.

Looks like Fileplanet made an enormous cack-up, seems the keys they gave out were for the EU open beta and apparently they were only supposed to give out US open beta keys (not that they bothered to mention that to anyone)...

At the moment..its unclear whether the EU keys will actually work or whether they will be cancelled.

The real annoying thing is that this game is actually released 2 days before i go to uni, so i hope i dont like it too much.
