Yeah when i took my cpu from 4.0 to 4.5 it did make a good difference with this card.
On BF4 im staying at 60 fps constantly with vsync on. This is At ultra with 4xaa and everything maxed out. I was getting about 30fps on average when i took the resolution scale up to 200%. Looked gorgeous but i need my 60fps.
 
I have been using MSI Afterburner for monitoring and it is showing GPU 1 67% GPU2 62% CPU all 4 cores have hit at some point 100%.
System spec is

8gig 1600 Ram CAS 9-9-9-24
128 M4

I did fresh OS install when i got my HD7990 and only have BF3 and 4 installed.

This would suggest a degree of bottlenecking by your CPU. Can you overclock it more and test again?
 
I would say so. Lower power consumption, less slots used on your board etc.

I'm going from two cards to the 7990 and I can't wait to have my PCIE lanes back !
 
For me it was a no brainer as i have had Sli for years and not had any problems and got the card for £380 delivered next day with a AMD Gold ticket, so to go Dual/Crossfire didn't worry me.

I am loving my HD7990, Been playing BF4 for three hours this morning, it looks great and plays great, Zero micro stutter, runs great on ultra at 1920x1200.

I have no regrets going from 480GTX sli to HD7990 :)
 
OK just plugged in my 2nd 7990 into my rig, re built the entire machine , water loop for the cards and CPU and OS rebuild :)

Initial tests are not to bad.

Nearly 40k on graphics is nice though :)

My CPU 3930 @ 4.6 is probably bottlenecking the cards.

Managed to get them both to 1190/1700 overclocks under water

Lots of heat coming out of the 810 switch case.

BitCoin / Litecoin mining :) Sweet over 3,000 hashes :)

Don't think I will need to upgrade graphics cards for a while now :)

I have to say this second 7990 is much better. I dont know if my ears have got used to it but i cant hear the coil whine at all while gaming now. Also with my first card.. even overclocking to 1100/1575 i would get screen artifacts and a messed up picture so i had to put the voltage up but with this one theres been no issues at all with those speeds and voltage at default. 12003 firestrike score isn't so bad. Temps are idling at 29-32 degrees aswell. Mostly due to the fact its freezing in england so that always helps :D

I shouldnt think so :P those will last you years. My 5870's in crossfire where still maxing out most games. This 7990 is a beast though.
 
I've a slight issue with BF4 with my 7990.

With V Sync off get circa 80-100fps! ultra settings and 1440p so far excellent. If a turn V Sync on I get 30-40fps and its janky and rubber bandy all over the place.

WTF is that about?
 
How hot do your 7990's run on air when in game?
Mine idle at about 29-31 degrees at the moment but in game there going up to about 80 unless i put vsync on then around 60-70.

Sounds normal, vsync is not pushing the card so much with as many frame rates.
 
weeeee...my 7990 just shipped from ocuk, gonna arrive tomorrow
please please please let there be no coil while else i'd be so sad...
 
Would this WC setup would be enough to cool hd 7990 and i5 3570k without OC?( for now).Phobya G-Changer 360 V2,EK-DCP combo 2.2,BLOK CPU EK EK-Supreme AMD lub Intel Nickel Plexi.
What sort of temps could I expect?
In the future I'm going to buy 120 or 240 rad but for now I don't have too much money to spend.
I'm still not 100% sure if I'm going to get hd 7990,but I'm getting wc parts.
