*** Official AMD 7990 Owners Thread ***

Yeah im curious what happened too.
The best thing about this time of year is the cool ambient temp of the room..helps with cooling :D. My 7990 maxes out about 70-73 temp wise. Thats with a 1100/1630 overclock.cpu is about 65-73 when its very stressed.

I really don't know - the GPU would post and go through the OS load screen, but as soon as it hit windows, the machine would black screen and crash :( And yes it is an Asus 7990.

I never got the temps above 75C, as when benching, I always ran the fans @ 100% but ran it box stock when I wasn't benching it. Didn't really need the extra 5-10 FPS.

We'll see what comes back from the RMA testing.

Doesn't stipulate anything in the RMA notes that I should post it with cover for the value of the item. And not sure how much it's costing to send it back. I only got the RMA note raised today. Will pack it up and get it to the postie tomorrow.

Guys what is the difference in temps between your gpu cores? Just playing some bf4 with vsync off and gpu1 was 10c hotter than gpu2. Normal or bad paste job on one core?

My gpu1 is usually around 5-10c hotter, after play bf4 for 30mins gpu 1 is at 83c gpu2 76c

Switched the 7990 to the 1st pci-e slot on my mobo away from the psu and this seems to have helped a bit. 6c difference between the gpu's so far now. This is overclocked and overvolted to 1100/1575 @1.205v. Not stable though crashed after 5 minutes. Going to need another notch or two of voltage i reckon.

Definitely get afterburner, mine does 1125/1700 stable at 1.2v It's a shame that there is no memory voltage adjustment as I think I could definitely eek more out of it.
