Sounds like to me that card was faulty and has been already returned, your box should have had the 8 game voucher in it and the Gold 3 game, all 7990 have the 8 game even thought they expired end of october. Someone has been in the box. I bought mine elsewhere and everything was sealed and it runs perfect, I think you have just been unlucky, anything could have happened to the card it could have been dropped when ocuk took the voucher out, don't even know why they would take it out, but someone has unless ash took it...

+1 as I said when you first received it, it should have been sealed! Sounds like you got a returned card as 101 degrees in Sleeping dogs bench

Just did a single valley run at 1.2v stock and default auto fan profile: GPU1: 80 GPU2: 76

Sleeping dogs extreme bench: GPU1: 84 GPU2: 79

SS-89 can you play a new game of sleeping dogs, stock fan stock clocks stock voltage. Extreme preset. Play through the first 10 minutes of the game. The intro has lots of cut scenes and is very tough on the gpu. After the cut scenes are over and you begin walking towards the night market with jackie quit and check the temps.

running i7 2600k
yet every other bench i have done my results have been good ie tombraider etc

I didn't get the 8 game code in my 7990 when it came through the post - and neither did the box have a seal on it but the box did seem to be in good condition.

Are we sure that all 7990s came with the 8 game code voucher?

I dont think the later stock does. Mine didn't and i got mine from ocuk. the seal with intact, but it was just a sticker which could be slapped on

I'm assuming both were Asus? Mine and a few others are XFX from another site. My box actually had an image printed on stating the 8 games free and had the code card inside.

Cheers for the trust messages lads. Not sure what to do now. Got the item going back as faulty to ocuk for overheating. I asked to DSR it if they dont find it faulty and ill take the hit on postage.

Matt, with regards to your temps, are you sure it's not the 4 fans exhausting out the side that is causing the problem? They could be starving the cards fans of air. A normal way to have it setup would be to have the side fans as intahes and both roof and the rear fans exhausting. It may be worth a shot if you haven't tried that.

I tried both ways mate and it made little difference im afraid.

BF4 was getting up to 95c at stock as well.

No surprises tho, the stock fan profiles are not recommended....
Read some old reviews for 7990 it is same overheating problems. The cards need a custom fan profile tho. You tried playing bf4 and seeing how it does with, say 58% fan speed? 58% should be perfectly fine to the ear.

Not true at all, I redeemed mine after the 'expiry date' and it still worked. Hell somebody redeemed it yesterday and got the updated bundle with Thief replacing Bioshock.

think the one matt bought should have remember gibbo saying he got a deal on some stock from asus7990 what was siting in there warehouse i assumed it would have been there for awhile, end of the day his box should have been sealed and it had been opened. i know someone else who bought a asus card from another retailer and that came with voucher. the voucher is worthless anyway it expired end of October don't see why ocuk would want them

I found one that comes with a free psu and its a gold edition psu. Considering what this spanish dude said im thinking this might be the best way to go about it. My current psu is only silver rated so could explain the gpu usage problems i noticed in sleeping dogs.

It isn't really a free PSU as they've just bumped up the price from the £371 they had it at. But given your issues it's another way of eliminating any other problems. Also as it's XFX branded fingers crossed you should get the 8 free games ticket.

Also Maka please tell me you didn't discard the 8 game ticket!!!! As I said it should still work man go and redeem it!
