that's temps fine what score did you get?

question

I run msi afterburner when unique valley is running, gpu 2 shoots up to 100 load, gpu 1 seems to be up and down and never constant 100 like 2.
it will go 100 ,45,94,88,92, etc
is this normal? looked for some examples on net cannot find any.

Depends how many cards you use i suppose. :D The people with three or more cards are definitely in the minority though.

What is the fps cap out of interest?

IIRC somewhere around 170fps it starts to feel like wading through treacle, the Titans don't score much more than a pair of GTX 690s on the sleeping dogs bench. I think exactly the same will happen when I turn all four 290Xs loose on it as well.

Some would say CPU bottleneck but I don't think that is likely with a 3930k at 5.1:D

Can anybody confirm that at 7990 will fit inside a silverstone raven rv02 case?

The only replies I can find about the issue online say the previous generation 6990 fits if i remove a fan grille. Is the reference 7990 longer or shorter than the 6990 (reportdly 305 to 318 mm long)?

i went from 6990 the cards look the same size to me. i will send you pic of them both so you can see for yourself, not sure how to post photos here

Its here folks. This time it was sealed on the outside and inside. Same with the psu. Box perfect condition. Definitely not opened prior to me getting it. 8 free games included as well. Delightful. PSU has much better cables than my old one, looks smarter and its fully modular. No coil whine at desktop. Perfect so far. Now for the real test...

Early indications are good. There is maybe a tad more coil whine, buts its not severe and it sounds like the type that wears off after a bit of usage. The gpu temps are identical, brilliant for the ocd. It killed me on the last one seeing 11c difference between the gpu's.

Just did a quick run of Valley at stock. All my fans on the lowest setting and auto fan on the 7990, so complete silence. So far so good. Asic values are 61.5% and 62.1% so both gpu's are an excellent match. Last time i had 66% and 61%.

Nice one Matt, glad it was sorted. I have an identical one (XFX). Cracking card and with a custom fan profile, even if you take it to the max overdrive OC limits of 1100 MHz core and 1575MHz memory, never goes above 70C at full load and reasonably quiet.

Remember the gpu throttling problem the spanish dude reported on? Well i think i know how to fix it via bios editing. I'm getting to work on it now. Safe to say folks the 7990 has a similar issue to the 7950 boost regarding throttling, but its not quite as bad.

I have fixed the throttling problem on 7990 cards! I'm getting Kaboom to help me increase the TDP a bit and then i will publish a 7990 custom bios.

Higher core and memory clocks available without having to use a hack or afterburner to extend the limits
Higher TDP, overclock further before throttling.
Remove the boost part of the bios
Use lower stock voltage

More to follow...

can wait for that ;p

Well took the plunge and just ordered myself the msi 7990 with free msi gaming mobo all for £399. I am hoping that they might give me some free games too and if they do I am hoping to have had a total spend of just over £100, Once I sell my 2 month old Gtx 680 (pe), The mobo and hopefully the games will fetch a bit too assuming I get them as well. So might recoup a little bit more than expected.....I call that a bargain :)

I think I will need a new psu though, Cause at the mo I am running a corsair 650 tx with 52 amps on the 12v and the cpu is the trusty 2500k @ 4.3ghz.....Just how borderline is that btw?

Should be fine with that psu. Its a very nice card im enjoying mine so far. I've not had much time to test it yet, working on this bios first to make it a flawless gpu.

Great news guy's! Will look to keep the 650tx for a while longer then. Can't quite believe that I am getting a stonkingly quick card at such a great price...Even better when I factor in my bits that I will sell.....:D:D
