*** Official AMD 7990 Owners Thread ***

I've been running the 9.2's fine. At 1920x1200 and under W8.1 averaging 110 fps.

I am running no overclock on GPU, Have a 2500k I5 @ 4.4Ghz, stock BIOS. No afterburner. ULPS on. Frame pacing on. V-sync off obviously. My GPU's are running at 50% and CPU high 80's low 90's.

Don't know if you have seen this

Second to last it mentions that they are looking at closing teh gap in BF4 GPU scaling

A. We're assessing some tweaks that will bring BF4 to 90-95% scaling 1->2 GPUs. That's without Mantle. Going forward, Mantle could help any game with CPU bottlenecking and multi-GPU scaling. It's deeply parallelized as an API.

interesting read all round.

My Q for the forum: Does ATIman uninstaller work under 8.1?

Do me a favour, could you try a few games with V Sync on and see if they feel, uhm, janky for want of a better word.

The heat from the 7990 keeps my hands warm in the bedroom, where its bloody freezing at this time of year. I like to put my hands up against the side exhausts. It really is a godsend. Summer time will be interesting though. :D

With the silent auto fan settings at stock temps are around 80-82c playing BF4 with vsync off.

LOL, I am loving the 2x7990 on water at the moment. Both windows open in my office and the temp is still a barmy 10 degrees during the dead of night with the cold weather we are having.

Great for mining :) Summer will definitely be interesting :D

Matt i dunno if this is to do with the bios change but when switching between profiles in AB the voltage keeps reverting back.. Say for example my core OC of 1150 is at 1250 volts... if i take it down to 1100 and put the voltage down to 1220 when i click apply the voltage just goes back up to 1250 and i have to do this 2/3 times before it accepts it and stays changed when i click apply.

May not be related but I had issues getting AB to save my settings consistently with 7990/7970 (would work sometimes) so I now edit the profiles directly and that works for me, every time. It's like there is an issue with the AB code syncing multiple GPUs via the GUI ...

Just pulled the trigger on an MSI 7990 so will be tri-fire with my remaining Sapphire Dual X. I have changed my mind so many times but finally decided this was the best value/performance upgrade.

Now for my first attempt at tri-fire and the fun with making it work! If you never hear from me again I threw my PC out of the window in an emo rage.

Just joined the club, couldn't resist the Gigabyte 7990 at £389.99 especially with the 3yr warranty and uk RMA and two free games. Will sell both my 7950s which means the change wont cost me much. :D

Welcome to the club bigboy. Only the coolest dudes with excessively large genitals own 7990's. Pretty sure i said the same about 7950's at the time, but lets ignore that for now.

As long as you can accomodate 12 inches (thats what she said) then you'll be golden. I noticed a nice little upgrade in fps terms and smoothness from 7950 crossfire.
