***official amd 83x0 overclocking thread***

I guess the board quality shows.

Maybe, I'm getting more used to the Xhair. Note that I usually run at 4.5Ghz. Although 5GHz is stable for almost everything ('cept prime and IBT), it does not volt down with the clocks when using 1.525V so 4.5Ghz at 1.42V is normal usage which volts down to 0.966V at 1.75GHz

Well fitted the Noctua's to the H80 tonight, what a difference! I can run it full speed now and it's no louder than slow speed with the corsair fans. Core & socket temps are about 9-10° cooler on idle, and about 8° cooler on load. Just finished an hour or two of BF4 and only hit 47° on the core, very happy!

Even did an FPU run on Aida and only hit 55/56°

Oh haha, nah. This board will do me just fine, just gunna take a bit tuning to get the best from it.

PCMARK7 score for FX8350 at 5GHz with HD6950 = 5661

3DMARK just for completion at 5GHz

PASSMARK just for completion at 5GHz

shame you struggle with the overclock of yours...I believe my overclock settings are close to 7950 performance?

I ran 1200/1400 for ages on my last set up, but the FX4100 was holding it back seemingly. I kept it exactly the same for this rig and nothing but trouble. I'm running 1100/1350 on fairly low volts at the moment (can't remember what but not as high as the 1.215 I was running before) and seems to be ok, so far.

well on 4.7 at the moment but failing prime and overdrive tests. Done an hour of AIDA though and seemed ok. 1.43v

will have to give it a gaming test

If temps are all right try putting to voltage to 1.45v.

I assume you've got LLC high already.
