***official amd 83x0 overclocking thread***

Well today I have ordered

EK CPU LTX water block, black acetal
EK water block for the Crosshair V formula NB and mosfets, black acetal / nickel
D5 pump, mounting and EK top (from the MM)

Better start watercooling :) will be a week or two though.

It's yellow in that SS, but the values are I think 0.0644534 type increments upto 1v.

For 4.75GHz with voltage offset, I use +0.1062V to +0.1125V I think from memory.

nkata getting your toes wet with some serious WC kit nice!

Just need a cheap 240 thick rad, and some fittings, possibly a reservoir. I have some tube and coolant left over from a previous loop.

So when you actually try to type your voltage in the box with yellow writing (e.g. 1.5V), it doesn't let you?

It didn't but I may have overlooked the manual setting; it definitely had the + - tabs and I would have preferred to just see the value you were submitting.

my 1st real overclock with this board, 4.9Ghz

not gone through stability testing but so far it seems a hell of a lot better than when i got 4.9 with the UD3 and much easier.. although i suppose thats down to this thread and knowing whats possible :)

also, the UD3 didnt like upping the fsb much. no problem for the CHVFZ :D anyways

roll on magic 5Ghz! :D

edit: ran the old cinebench R11.5 to compare to UD3 score.. both at 4.9ghz the CHVFZ is scoring lower. 8.05 vs 8.39 achieved with the UD3

That 4770K isn't accurate just so you know.

Accurate enough I think as a basic OC at 4.4GHz. We don't know what memory was used and frequency and timings. The lowest score on the cinbench thread for a 4770K at stock is 712. Tonester is second lowest at 4.4 GHz with 844 but I have no idea of his memory settings so that would be helpful to know. Haswell has a very strong IMC and this helps.

My latest attempt:

Score of 816 at 5.15 GHz and memory at 2133 Cas 9. I am no 8 pack but I think there is plenty of juice to be extracted from the 8320/8350. I'm just not good enough at this to do it and frankly the memory I'm using is mediocre.
