*Official* Antec P182 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

I finally figured out how to squeeze an Enermax Galaxy into a P182.
Take out the bottom fan spin it round and refit on side of HD's dont forget to turn the fan around on the mounting as well to keep the flow going the correct way.

Took about an hour to get it in with out scratching anything and it is really a tight fit you need to bend the internal fan mounting plate a little to get the PSU past it and into the case.

I have about 5 harddrives and am looking at this case to keep the heat away from my GPU's... only thing I am worried about is noise, with them all on their side are they noisier?

Not IMO. All the hardrives mount on thick, flexible silicon grommets, not thin washers.

I am unable the hear any noise from my 250gb seagate. :)

Makes me appreciate just how noisy my old Maxtors were :D

Nice cabling. :)

My 4pin 12v had to go through the hole in the top right of your picture, and the connector was just below it. There was less than an inch of cable to spare. I had already fitted the HSF and attaching this proved to be a *******. :D

Its defo worth the effort though. I spent about an hour routing cables. When you turn the case back round and see a clean, tidy motherboard bay, it makes it very worthwhile.

Well here's my effort, not had chance to fully tidy up the cables, will get round to it someday.

Nice idea.. Two 120mm fans cooling the side of all PCI Cards, how did you attach fans to base of case? The clear cable sleeving you are using is a great way I have used before to keep all those loose cables all nice and tidy, not forgetting enhancing airflow as well ;) I did swap the type you have to a smaller threaded black spiral wrap, which made it a bit less noticable and gave it a stealthy look to the cases cable management, bought a metres worth for about a £1 from a local DIY Shop :D Again nice case M8..;) off to fit a 120mm fan to the base of my P182... Cheers.

Works a treat, dropped GFX card temps a hell of lot, so plenty of overclocking headroom, the 120mm fan blades overlap all vital areas so even the Northbridge gets a cool breeze. :D I attached them via pre-cut waterblock holes at the back via some cable ties, you can do it from underneath aswell though.

Running all the fans from Zalman’s ZM-MFC1 front panel - so have complete control over fan speed etc. Sorced some extra clips for the Scythe cpu cooler so i could use the push pull method, every little helps and its allmost silent when side on and fans on low.

quick question guys. how do you take out the fan behind the psu? im not using it and it make the case a bit easier to work with. cheers

Hey RS

Where's that chair from?

OT

Spotted the chair also, looks like first class seating :D whats the upholstery made of synthetic ? leather? from Staples then, do they have an online store? has anyone seen a similar design elsewhere?

Thanks for the encouragement mate unfortunatley at the moment all I have is the case and PSU ( wife and 14yr olds birthday ) have put a stop to the build at the moment plus christmas is comming, I had already stoped due to the new CPU from intel comming out but im going to revert back to the original idea of a quad 6600 and striker extreme for mobo , graphics not sure yet thinking BFG 8800 gt though.

Hey guys

I'm about to get one of these after lots of reading and I just have a few questions around cabling.

I want my new rig to be nice and neat, I'm replacing all the fans with Sharkoon 2000 120mm fans and fitting the Zalman ZM-MFC1 fan controller. I'll also be fitting a fan to the thermalright ultra extreme.

Will I need any extra cabling items to make my life easier? and if so what will I need please. I intend to hide as much cabling as possible.

I will also be using a Corsair 620w PSU.

Many thanks.

The fans that come with the case have fan controllers built in with 3 speeds so are quiet to begin with, no other things are really needed in your setup there.

Thanks MRK, I want to replace the fans as I think the sharkoons will be much better for airflow. The extra cabling issue is so I know I have enough length on things to hide away out of sight.
