*Official* Antec P182 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

Think about it. The 182 case doors are a sandwich of plastic and metal (metal/plastic/metal) you're now cutting it down to just a sheet of perspex. And a case window serves no purpose.

The front fans get plenty of airflow, the grilles to the side are intake for the case fans. Because the front door is opposite the fans direct fan noise is reduced.

It's a good case however the optical bays need to have screw holes (they just slide in, don't even lock) Bottom HD cage is too close to the fan/metal struts so bloody pain. Good idea with removeable slide out cage though.

Whats it like trying to fit a CPU cooler to the mobo in the case when its a large cooler like the scyth ninja revb? I guess you gotta put the cooler on the mobo on something like a desk?

I'm using Ninja on the P182, fanless. Easier to mount Ninja on the board, outside the desk then lower the mobo/heatsink into the case then screw down.

You think it is money well spent for me?

P182 or that ^^^^^
That looks fantastic!

Whats wrong with modding it with a perspex window? Should add value to it to sell on than if I sold it on with no case window.

No as you've just reduced the quietness of the case. A perspex window will be louder than the stock panels.

Depends how good a job you do on it... you can buy cases with pre-modded side panels and they cost more than the stock side panel.
If you do a rough cut and it looks naff then value is decreased.

Adding a window into a side panel isn't gonna suddenly make the noise levels jump up significatly, yes it will be ever so slightly louder but I wouldn't make a big deal about it.

Well if I do put a side panel in I want it to be a good job, nice and neat, shame they aint and guides on putting one on the P182 side panel.

I've just ordered a bunch of 120mm yate loons and a zalman fan controller from a competitor. Why can't OCUK do them :(

Just got my P182 :D, not started putting PC in it yet, got a pic, you've all seen it before lol but I'm impressed with the build quality on this thing, solid as a rock!, my old case the sides with the HDD on are very flexible and flimsy, this is just awsome!!.

Just finished fitting my yate loons and the Zalman ZM-MFC1 Plus Black Multi Fan Controller. Only thing left to do is to replace the Audigy 2 ZS with the Fatal1ty X-FI that's coming later and I've also got an internal memory card reader arriving sometime next week :)
