*Official* Antec P182 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

hehe would be no loss if it did break :p.

To get the best cooling outa this case do I need to change the fans really and put an extra 120mm in the bottom front fan?

At High the stock 120mm fans really are LOUD.

I dont think that you *really* need to change them, especially if you are happy with the noise levels and temperatures in your case.

I am no expert in this area, but from reading this thread and others in here, is that replacing the stock fans is to do with moving more cool air for the same speed or less speed, (which makes things quieter), everyone seems to like different types of fans, I chose the Sharkoons just because they are white.... :p I got the faster ones so I could slow them down and get a balance of noise/airflow.

Whether you need the extra fan in your case or not is again down to whether you feel that your temps are good or not, if you want to attach the front fan, looking at your setup you would need to move your IDE HDD out of the way, which is gonna cause problems connecting your HDD and CD drive to the one port.

I got a fan in the front were my IDE HDD is, just not got on down on the ground floor apart from the middle with the PSU. I will probs get some YateLoons or w/e they are called but I only have a 4 fan controller so going to need something else to adjust one of them. Are the fans you have any quieter than the stock ones?

Replaced all with the Yate loon, put them on the Zalman MFC and much happier now. The stock fans on low are fine noisewise but it's mainly an airflow prob.

If you're running stock you'll prob be ok, I'm running oc'd so need more air :)

I've got an near identical setup - P182, Yate Loons all round and the Zalman 6 fan controller ;)

The Antec fans were okay, but the Loons do seem to shift a lot more air.

I'm very happy with my setup :)

Hey guys,

Noticed that quite a lot of you have the Tuniq 120 in this case.

What sort of idle temps were/are u getting a stock/overclock speed on the Q6600?

How did you apply your thermal paste for the Heatsink?

Mines at mid 30s to low 40s :( Think i might have to go for a resit!

Mine is same as yours with a q6600 @ 3.2ghz. Thinking of maybe lapping the HS, but tbh the load temps aren't rediculously high ~60.

Yar tis a G0.

Was my first build aswell so was a bit cautious.

Oh and did you screw the TT screws by hand till they were tight or did u then do another turn with some pliers or something?

oh just a tip, get a fan with open corners if you want to mount the top exhaust without bending the metal mounts with pliers like I did lol.

Hi all,

just need a quick bit of help, I'm trying to remove the front fascia of the case, there are three plastic tabs on either side (six in total) that need to be unclicked but I can't seem to get the top right tab undone? (Tab location circled in red).

I'm having to put so much force on that tab that I think its just about to snap?

Anyone removed the front of the case before? any tips?
