*Official* Antec P182 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

Does anyone know if a side panel with a window is available that fits the P182? I like the noise-dampening effect of the original Antec panel but it's nice to be able to see the PC running.

Some pictures of mine (crappy quality, taken in my dark-ish room on my phone):

The case would be almost silent if it wasn't for my PSU fan. Anyone know of a way to control the speed of such, or is that unsafe? o_o

My top fan blows air out of the case as well. Kinda strange that some of you have it sucking air into the case instead. Maybe someone should be fired at the factory? :p

Here is my crazy cable mess......but hey lots of fans......

Do the 3 120mm fans have to be connected to the mobo as well as to the PSU?

120mm fans can be connected to both the motherboard or the powersupply all which depend on the fan connectors used, the molex connectors will go to the powersupply (3 pin converters will enable you to connect to motherboard), and 3 pin connectors are connected to the motherboard. I do prefer connecting fans to the motherboard, keeps cabling down to a minimum..;)

Thanks. Yes I would prefer the same but there don't appear to be any 3-pin converters with the case, I presume you have to get them separately?

Does anyone think it's worth replacing the stock case fans in this case? I'm thinking of getting some Sharkoon Silent Eagles 1000s to replace the Antec Tri-Cools. Are the stock fans decent, or would the sharkoons be noticeably quieter/perform better?

Also would I be better off buying a fan controller for them, or would controlling them via the motherboard work fine?

I am going to use Akasa 120mm Blue LED fans to replace the stock fans  Never used any stock fans that have come with cases, they don't seem to have as good cfm ratings as leading brands...;)

Alright, I think I'm settled on this case. My shopping list looks something like this then:

Antec P182 Case
4x Sharkoon Silent Eagle 120MM Case fans
Zalman MFC1 Plus Fan Controller
Akasa 20/24-Pin 30cm PSU Extension Cable
4-Pin 12V PSU Extension Cable (OcUK don't seem to sell any but I should be able to pick one up somewhere)

With the fan controller, when the fans can be adjusted to 5V, does this translate into 5/12 of the RPM, ie, I'd have a minimum of 833 RPM with the Sharkoon 2000s? If it is like that then I'm thinking the 2000s would be a better choice than the 1000s since they'd be more flexible.

Mmm, Silence :D

well i have upgraded all the fans in this case to yate loons and even with them on full speed they are quieter than the stock ones at low and half speed i now have a fan controller too which brings the noise down considerably all i need to do is get rid of my crappy ocz stealthsteam psu for total silence.
