*Official* Antec P182 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

Only thing that annoyed me was the lack of a dust filter on it.

No dust filter as this is an exhaust fan by default, air comes in at the front through the two dust filters.

From the instruction manual

Antec Manual said:
The Top and Rear Exhaust TriCool™ Fans

The two fans are mounted so that the air is blowing out of the case. The top fan
comes with a spoiler to mount on the top of the case.

Reviewed the new "mini" Antec P180/2 Case...

A mini version of the award winning P180/2 case for gamers on the move,

It might not be as small as your average Shuttle box, but it could be the next best thing for gamers who like to cart their hulking, high-end PCs around with them. It’s a mini version of Antec’s acclaimed P180 case, and it takes a microATX motherboard and still comes with a 200mm fan in the top.

In a nod towards the good old double entendre, Antec claims that ‘good things come in small packages,’ and describes the case as ‘a stylishly small enclosure’ that’s ‘perfect for gamers on the move.’ The company also adds that ‘you won’t believe the quality we’ve fit into this petite portable case,’ and it may well have a point if you look at the specs.

All you’re missing out on is a full-size ATX motherboard, but you rarely need all those 1x PCI-E slots and extra PCI slots anyway. As a result of the trimming, the mini P180 now has dimensions of just 212 x 436 435mm (W x D x H), compared with the original P180’s dimensions of 205 x 507 x 540mm (W x D x H), so it’s noticeably smaller. No details on pricing or availabilty in the UK have been released yet.

TO BOBMUNKHOUSE OR ANYONE WHO KNOWS!...

The fan on the 2900xt is loud, does the P182 make a good job of making it near silent despite the loudness of the fan?

and another one... does the corsair PSU 4 pin power cable stretch round the back of the cable tidy section and into place very easily? or would I need extensions?

Cheers lads.

Thanks for the info dude!

Any one know about whether the case contains the 2900XT noise okay? thanks.

Just noticed we have the same mobo too, if you look at the pic then that is what your mobo will look like in place :D

Not sure about the ATI card, but I should imagine it will do a good a job as any case... If you still needed further dampening you can buy the noise dampening insulation - don't think OCUK stock it so can't link but google for case sound insulation ;)

^^So it is! Good job on keeping cable tidy, hope I can get mine like that :P

Well I decided to risk it, Ive just ordered mine... I'll post a pic when I get it :)

Thanks dude!

120mm fans can be connected to both the motherboard or the powersupply all which depend on the fan connectors used, the molex connectors will go to the powersupply (3 pin converters will enable you to connect to motherboard), and 3 pin connectors are connected to the motherboard. I do prefer connecting fans to the motherboard, keeps cabling down to a minimum..;)

Just a thought............
what is the point of connecting P180/82 Stock case fans to the motherboard?
They are two wire fans.

They are two wire fans.

The Stock case fans use the molex connectors to power the case fans, the option to use the motherboard fan connectors as stated depend on the fans bought and the type of connectors supplied with them, if you have 2 pin fan leads you can get adaptors to convert them to molex.

It does do a good job but the 2900xt is the loadest part, and I cant think of a case that would make it silent.

As for the corsair cable length I think its is long enough but as you can see I,m not that good at cable stuff...............

ah, to test a friend's graphics card, i had to remove the upper drive cage to unplug my 8800GTS, so i removed my fan from drive cage, put it flat on the drive cage rail. and it snaped a blade off the fan. :(

although without a fan blowing at the GPU (but still have a fan at front intake) the CPU temperature seems to be down a tiny bit. however, the GPU temperature is up by 3-5c

My case arrived yesterday with my other parts. Started building my system lastnight. Will post some pics soon.

But first I need to say something. This case is just amazing.

Seriously, as soon as I saw inside and started inpecting and fitting parts I knew this would be a leap beyond any case I'd used before. The design is great, it's making life easy for me and it's a lot of fun discovering the features they have put in.

Definitely gets my approval so far.

Everything is awesome apart from the fan on the 2900... its a hoover lol. I might get one of the coolers for it, see how that goes. Great case though... ill post some pictures tonight.

Haven't got an outside shot, but there is the inside. It took me a while around 2 hours, could still do with tidying around the back of mobo panel... but im happy as it is lol :)
