*Official* Antec P182 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

I put together a pc for the first time over the weekend using the p182 SE. I was ill most of the time so I didnt do quite as good a job with it as I'd have likeed. In particular, the cable management is something that I intend to improve soon.

I'm very happy with the case. For the most part it feels very solid and well built. My only real problem was that the case door is made out of a thinner and noticably more flimsy plastic than the rest of the case. When I was manouvering the case during the build, the door moved back suddenly and one of the plastic hinges snapped right off. I managed to glue it back on, but it nevertheless still feels like a weakpoint of the case which I have to be careful with. Take it off whilst you build.

Some of the wiring was a little difficult but this was mainly due to the size and shape of the Tuniq Tower which made it slighly tricky to work around.

Anyway, on to the pics:

I'll grab some better pics of the insides when I go back to tidy the cables a bit. I think I might have made some slight changes after taking the internal pics, but its pretty close to how it all ended up.

Hi guys, thinking of getting a P182 myself but just have some questions if thats allright :).
First of all, how much space is there behind the door, just wondering cause I have an I/O port for my X-fi soundcard.
Also, how have you guys handled the fans, replaced them, used fan controllers, any good advice on some good fans?
And lastly, will my Tagan 700W's cables reach the motherboard lol:p.
Thanks for the help:)

Id say between 2cm and an inch.

The fans included seem pretty good to me, and arent noisy enough to justify replacing them, they come with a mediocre fan controller, which has 3 speed settings 1)silent 2)a little noisier and 3) vaccum cleaner. Although 1 is more than good enough for most needs. A fan controller may be a good idea to control the noise a little, but not worth it imo.

Can't help on the last question, but its not too hard to get an extension cable :)

Are the reflective panels prone to scratches if you polish them with a duster, I have seen some mirrored cases that if you polish them they leave small hair line scratches on the panels....

Its a brilliant case, mate, I couldn't be happier with mine. I put my four hard-drives into the lower chamber and have a second input fan in the hard-drive cage in the upper chamber in a push-pull config with the other upper input fan.

My noctua nh u12f fan blows through the heatsink directly towards the topmost upper output fan leaving my overclocked quaddie idling at 30c at the moment. Its very solid and very well put together - the manual's a bit of a disappointment though, but there are plenty of piccies here to help you out if you get stuck.

Hi - Does anyone know if a side panel with a window is available that fits the P182? I like the noise-dampening effect of the original Antec panel but it's nice to be able to see the PC running too.

Alright for some having quiet graphics card coolers :P! im happy with 7 /10, took along time to get everything sorted tho... but well worth it! thanks ;)

I havent done anything to it yet, probably going to get one of those ThermalRight 2900XT coolers... you can really hear that fan go, even inside the P182 its insanely loud lol.

P182 does a brilliant job of silencing everything else tho... I can't even hear my Raptor HDD spin round which is incredible lol. Love the case, its the balls!

Just put my HTPC (was TJ-08) in the Antec P182. PSU/cable/SATA/SATA power cables bit tight and have to be careful when fitting. 4 pin power plug JUST long enough going behind motherboard tray. Talking of which why don't you feed ATX power behind , then through the gap near the yellow SATA and then push into mobo? Seasonic S12 no problems this way- long enough. Rear fan is a bit grindy, will contact Antec.

Only have top fan at low, PSU fan at low. Very slightly louder than my Silverstone TJ-08. At least I now have plenty of space to fit more HD's.
