£36.99 for Steam pre-order!

Yeah, i was going to get it on steam but went and bought both arma2 and ofp2 for £50 from a retailer.

I imagine the release date will change as it is not the first time on STEAM a pre-release date would have been bought forward.

Regarding the price, for me, I allways said I would buy this game on STEAM.

I was going to get the German version at £35 odd so to have the convenience of STEAM is fine with me.

Will get my monies worth out of this anyway im sure.

Yeah I'm definatly getting the TrackIR 5 - That thing had me totaly sold. The track IR 4 and Arma 1.5 was a bit crap by all accounts

The advantage to steam I guess is you could install it on any machine, not worry about the disk and it'll update it you. Might be a pain to sell on though

Totally Wrong , trackir 4 + arma works great

The main difference with trackir 4 -> trackir 5 is wider field of view
and a higher capture res ( which makes little or no real world difference)

Never tried the Track IR4 but used my IR5 with ARMA and ARMA2 and it definitely feels a lot better in ARMA2, wouldnt go without it now love using it, although I cant get along with it in iRacing which is what I primarily bought it for.....

Oh and its given me a bad habit when watching ARMA2 videos on youtube, I turn my head without realising to look around LOL

On steam, will it streamline the patches in for you? I love the sound of this game, but the developers sound like cowboys to me. No game should be released with known bugs - but if steam magically fixes it, that'll do me.

Secondly, I see that the sys requirements are 7900+dual core, but recommended is quad core and 8800GT. What do actual players recommend? Will a 3.6gHz tri core and 8800GT be enough for decent framerates at 1440x900 or 1680x1050, or do I need to be looking at something with more grunt?

Arma1 did.. you got shot, you died, you just simply collapsed. When shooting someone in the middle of running they just tumble to the floor.

They were pre-determined animations. They fell in the same way every time.
