*******Official Armed Assault 2 thread of official officialness*******

I've gone from a AMD X2 4200 to a Intel Q9550 today and I can now play the game :D Much better playing experience now it runs more smoothly. Running an 8800GT so wondering if an upgrade in graphics would help even further or whether it's all CPU related? I've noticed a massive increase since going to quad core.

A graphics upgrade would most certainly provide more of a boost. ;)

Gave the demo another go yesterday morning and after playing around with the graphics I had a much better experience. I wasn't a fan of Arma 1 but this feels quite different to me. For £18 I think I might pick up a copy soon :).

Sweet. Was looking at the Jersey place and saw it was £24, but searched for £17.99 and found it now ;) Have placed an order but it's out of stock. Not expecting much from it but I'm enjoying messing about in the editor and for £17.99 its worth that :D

That's all I've done and I have the full game, from what I've read and the fact I don't have much of a pc I'm not missing that much. I'll leave the missions until they're finished.

iv had some of the best moments in any game thanks to arma2 on the OCUK server

When you have players who know what there doing and the server is strictly admin ita joy to play :)
also im rather lucky in 30+ hours played only 1 crash and gfx run smooth for me

You know I have not been this excited about playing a game in a long while. Really sounds like an interesting game and on the scale that planet side was.

Do you level up and stuff or do you just choose the weapons/class you want and go?

Got this game over the weekend and have been dipping in and out of it.

I found it pretty hard to get to grips with but I'm now enjoying it, playing through the start of the campaign.

Was quite surprised at the helicopter and VTOL flying complexity. I assume a joystick helps?

Will get used to it a bit more on SP then have a go at MP.

The retail version of the game (as opposed to Steam) is on sale for today only (6th July) at £15.95 (with 6% quidco). That's all I can tell you without getting into trouble

At the start You can pick your class out of the many on offer, once in game you can go to ammo creates and pick what weapons you want depending on game type/campaign

i mainly go sniper weapons with some form of anti tank weapons just in case its a good combo but sniper takes som good aim understanding of bullet drop and speed and movemt of target

i dont use Joystick i use Keybaord, and im rather good at flying/lift/wreck/venom and all other choppers, however fixed wing id say you deffo need a joystick, i can fly with keyboard but when it comes to bombing and fighting it fails badly

I had a few crashes when I first installed but upgraded to the latest nvidia drivers and not had another crash since. So they are worth a try if you get any more crashes.

The only crash I have to worry about now is my plane hitting the floor. :D

Cheers Sarcasm.

Will give MP a shot tonight.
