*****Official ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA thread*****

Re-flash the same bios again,

I had the same issue and this cured it.

Also when you flash you should always set your machine to stock BEFORE flashing.

Just nip into the bios, load defaults. then flash, then go back in and re-set your bios settings. I never use the oc profiles btw, but have heard that they need to be started from scratch with some bios updates. so dont rely on a profile to restore your o/c.

Hope thats of some use.

Thanks. I'm back home this afternoon after a week away with work, fingers crossed I can cure it as I've been getting really wound up by it.

Which BIOS would you suggest using?

well im using the 1201, i had the same issue as you with both 1201 and 1103 i think it was.

In both instances i just re-flashed over the top again with the same bios and it started working. Had me concerned for a while though lol

Great this worked for me - thanks for this.

Unfortunatly 1201 made me blue screen on boot up so I have gone back to 0907.

Has anybody else had the bluescreen issue?

Glad to be of help lads.

No issues with 1201 myself Leo, im using it at 440x9 giving my 3960mhz lol
I admit im pushing 1.68v through my q6600 to get there, but temps are fine under water lol :D

Tried 1201 again and reinstalled over the top but it always bluescreens on startup - maybe the improved memory compatability is rendering my dominators incompatable!

After having a frigging nightmare with this board yesterday (constant CPU INIT and DET RAM errors on reboot), I've come to love it today. Managed a full 2 hour OCCT run on my Q6600 at 3.9ghz using the same vcore that the IP35 Pro could only do 3.8ghz on. Tho it has confirmed that the ageing PSU is the weak link in this system, and it's what is really holding back my Q6600 overclock.

If I've time tomorrow I'll put my Q9450 in it and see what she can do with a 45nm chip that won't be hindered by a crap +12v line. Then I'll pick up a new PSU during the week and have another go with the Q6600.

do you not change any voltages at all leo??

I would set the ram to 2.1v or 2.2v the board will default it to 1.8v which is not the rated voltage for it.

Okay, I tried inputting exactly from post 151 (with the exception of my RAM Voltage) and the PC would not boot (Failed overclocking message) so i reverted to auto volatages for everthinng with the exception of the RAM and it all works.

If i set my RAM to auto it sets at 5-5-5-18 but it should be 5-5-5-15, why does it not pick this up and ahould i just set manually?

However i set the RAM voltage at 2.14 and Everest is reporting it at 2.26. Which one should I believe?

Ok guys, just got my maximus formula! It's got the 0505 bios. I always like to have the latest bios but you people make me scared :p Should I upgrade to 1201 or 1102 or just leave it?

Also, the Supreme FX sound card sounds like utter crap (or I'm doing something wrong) compared to my PCI based Audigy 2 ZS, I'm thinking of putting the Audigy back in. Can this in any way affect my overclock? Thanks!
