so... left mouse fires your right handed weapon, and right mouse fires your left handed weapon. how... intuitive. at least you can change that.

Yeah, I changed that the minute I got my first Plasmid, it's like trying to pat your head and rub your stomach while having bricks thrown at you.....by angry mutants.

is there any AA? I enabled it in ccc but it doesn't seem to have worked

That's a really comical 'feature'. Well-done 2k :/

I really hope it picks up.

Oh and did anyone else feel really let down by the opening? Won't spoil anything but it's really is nothing on the original.

Yup, same, so far thoroughly dissappointing, if only because I prayed it improved on the first game dramatically, but its worse. I think texture wise it looked dated in the original but fantastic design in lots of area's mostly made up for it, rather boring design and crappy textures just make it look old, though not as badly as the new Stalker.

Story wise, I'm bored to tear's already, character wise, I feel clunky and slow, despite what should be a strong shell I feel incredibly vunerable and combat seems odd. No matter what I do the second I step even slightly into the open I'm losing health instantly, enemies with guns hit me with basically every single bullet. Stunning with plasmids, then shooting, other than being boring, doesn't work well on large groups due to how little eve you start with.

Guns feel crappy, combat is, outlast the hordes with tonnes of med kits, and thats about it.

Infact I'm so entirely bored already I'm considering using a trainer to get lots of Adam and get some more plasmid options and higher levels of eve, just so I can actually enjoy some combat.

Don't think it will be long before I give Mass Effect 1 or 2 another play through to break up the boredom of playing this and Stalker.

Soooo what have I learned about this game ??

Dated but still pretty graphics , uninspiring / linear level design.

Little character identity or interaction , I could be playing as anything

Combat - Terrible, who lasts the longest and enemies never miss ! No med kits , you die, dodgy 'non standard' controls don't help either

Weapons - Bit silly, nothing to make you grin

Gameplay - Same as the last one and less fun as you've seen it all before. Not a bad thing in some circumstances , this isn't one of them.

All in all , such a massive disappointment and a waste of money IMO. :o

Well after three hours of it the only thing that's really bothering me are the controls. Switching plasmids and weapons during fights is unnecessarily tricky. Other than that it's pretty good.

Hmm loaded it up but it seems I have a problem with the graphics, textures are disgustingly bad. Everything is on "high" but pretty sure its stuck on low for some reason.

*edit* Seem bioshock failed on start, restart fixed it. :)

Played the first few levels and I'm up to Paupers Drops and I have to say....

I'm disappointed, it's just Bioshock 1 with new voices and a few new guns, yes the mechanics have advanced and the AI is better but the game itself just lacks...character, I've yet to encounter anything near as atmospheric as some of the Bioshock1 levels even near the beginning and Sinclair is incredibly boring and seems to just be a carbon copy Atlas even down to the little sister speech about saving/not saving. The visuals are tired and look a bit dated now so it can't survive on that alone, the story makes very little sense at the moment and not even in a good way, the new villain is teeth gratingly annoying and has none of the....gravitas that Ryan had, she just seems a bit of a loon.

I really hope it picks up.

As I play more and more I agree, BioShock 1 had a special kind of magic while this is still a lot of the same which isn't a bad thing by any means, it isn't gripping me as much as BioShock 1 did.

Still enjoying it though. Just got to Siren Valley

I can't put my finger on it but BioShock one was a masterpiece I just went back and back to, I'm not convinced yet I'll do the same for this

I`ve only been playing for an hour but I am really liking it so far.

I am doing what I do best, lurking in the ladies toilets searching ashtrays for money and food. To think, I was arrested for this two years ago and now its a mainstream game !

Seriously, it's really nice to be back in Rapture.

Don't get me wrong it's good to be back but part of the magic is missing from the first, I guess the first just wow'd everyone with the type of world that it was where as this lacks that surprise element.

We all sort of already know what to expect down there.

This is a GREAT item-picking-up sim. When I enter a new room I usually clear it of enemies in roughly 20 seconds, then spend another 2 minutes scavenging... searching desks, poking around in corners, and delving through endless piles of junk. I would recommend it to anyone who has ever dreamt of being homeless and having to root through people's rubbish all day for things to eat and/or sell for 50p. It's so much fun sometimes I almost forget I am playing a shooter.

Decent game though, don't get me wrong! Just my fault for being so damn obsessive, grr

Of the some 6-7 hours I've put into bs2 I'd easily say 75% if not more is scavenging for stuff. :D I love it though.
