*****Official Crysis 3 Thread*****

Crysis was open and expansive, Crysis 3 is closed in very short rendered draw distances. It has lots of Hollywood scripted scenes added but lacks the natural beauty that Crysis had.

My opinion anyway. This is Crysis max detail a 7 year old pc game.

Not quite a 6 year old game actually ;)

And it stands to reason that it doesn't have the natural beauty Crysis had, its not set on a tropical island, its set in an established city that nature is in the process of reclaiming. Its a bit of an odd comparison to make, its not meant to be beautiful with palm trees swaying in the wind, its meant to be a War torn City thats been uninhabited for 20+ years.

im glad its not too expansive, im not a big fan of open world shooters.
Anyway they are just usually full of boring travelling, and filler side missions, etc.
I prefer a shorter more consice game with intersting things to do.

So they should mix both. Do the short interesting tasks, or wonder off and go exploring for more open missions - a la real life

Not sure if this helps but im running it on Med settings with following specs, AMD FX 4100,8GB DDR3 1333Mhz, ATi 7770 and runs fine, Maybe day one patch might of fixed some of your issues people seem to have

Could i even squeeze 30fps with a xfx 6950 2gb at 1920x1080?
8gb of 1333 or 1600 ram and i5 2500k overclocked to 4.4ghz

This is about the same setup as I'm using and it runs great at mediums settings (which still look good) but high is a bit too much for the system

I might get this when its a bit cheaper. What sort of settings will i be playing at with a 40-60 fps with this:
i5 [email protected]
8gb ram
670SLI

Anyone?
I would like to think i would have it on high with maybe a couple settings on max.

its all about the multiplayer anyway thats where the fun is at and crysis 3 mp is amazing, and it looks better than both crysis and 2

The reason why crysis 2 and 3 are set in cities is because consoles cannot cope in jungle ect environments

Crysis is a different game to Crysis 2/3, main reason being that it was a PC exclusive and hence there are certain aspects of it that Crysis 2/3 can never recreate, chief among those is the sheer amount of detail and size of the maps. As someone has already mentioned, there is a dynamic and natural beauty to Crysis that it's successors can't put across.

Sure, the graphics in Crysis 2/3 look more refined, but it's a far more static and small scale affair compared to Crysis.

Running sweet as a nut maxxed out at 1920 X 1200 on my system:

990X @ 5GHz
Rampage II Extreme
6GB Dominator GT 2000 c7
2 X WC GTX 480 SLi

Just ordered this from OCUK, will arrive tuesday. Not paying those rip off origin prices!

Looking forward to this as despite popular opinion I quite enjoyed Crysis 2.
