It is a very scalable engine / game. Even in low settings it looks great.

Its interesting how when you down say object detail from very high to medium it takes away detail but makes certain features (like lights) more pronounced so it still looks good

With the above I would turn water to very high. Light reflections on water look very good and doesnt take away too much fps

Just going to have another couple of hours play, 3rd run through on the second highest difficulty. So will have a little play around with the settings. How accurate is AB, because I seem to be getting high fps most of the time and it`s not easy playing and trying to keep tabs on the counter.

Sorry, what is AB? After burner or something else?

I would recommend getting Fraps to monitor fps in the corner of the screen

Yes, AfterBurner. Will Fraps show what your average fps are or just the same as AB, in real time. Just like to have some idea what I average in a game.

So, when people say they average X amount of fps in a game, it is just a rough estimate.

You can run an average/min/max fps benchmark in Fraps.

I dont like how benchmarks of crysis and other games on sites just say "run around for a minute with xyz settings and record average fps"

Its not really precise is it! There should be a set benchmark program

Pretty much, i usually just say the number i see more often. So in this, it would be 35.

That`s interesting, because the figure I see most often is 90, although I have occasionally seen 30 and 50. I think what I`ll do next time I play, once I have cleared an area of all enemies, I`ll have a wander around. Maybe see if the fps dips when looking at certain objects and try with different settings, just to see how high I can get, while still being playable.

bump up the res to 1440p, object, shaders and shadows to very high. You should see a nice dip to 9fps instead of 90 then :p

Just ran Fraps for 10 mins or so.

Frames: 14007 - Time: 29953ms - Avg: 467.633 - Min: 350 - Max: 698

So that averages out at about 30fps, which is a bit more realistic.

i think ( my opinion only) that this game is very very boring, i cant play it even though it looks great.

Im actually starting to come around to this too. Very basic, stunning to look at but you can run to various points and not see much but progress. Losing its appeal a bit.

Umm, but couldn't you say this about 99% of first person shooters? They are pretty much all the same really.

I'd certainly rather play Crysis 3 than Black Ops 6 or COD 10 though :p
