*****Official Crysis 3 Thread*****

Something I have noticed, with everything on Very high 1080p and v sync on i get 30fps sometimes dropping a few 28 fps, I have played about with triple buffering and adaptive V sync and altho with adaptive v sync on my fps goes right up and with a capped Fps to say 59 i still get screen tearing same as if its off, However i have now noticed that if i just have V sync off and have no capped fps but keep triple buffer on but play on windowed mode High fps around 55 60 and no screen tearing, ok so you loose some of the display at the top of the screen with the windows bar bit but its running so much better and with everything on max. The set up is gtx670 oc to 1280 and i7 3777k stock speeds and 16gb ram. is this to be expected and if so why? I will play the game like this for now as its great.

Yes, some reason with v sync enabled, triple buffering will not engage and you cap at 15, 30 or 60fps depending on how many fps your rig can handle, as not many can maintain 60fps, v sync drops to 30fps, half the 60fps, so if you can do say 35 - 45fps, instead of showing this, it drops to 30fps as the next frame is not buffered due to triple buffering not working for Crysis 3, it was the same for Crysis 2.

But running in a window mode, you won't need v sync as it runs at whatever fps you can get, don't need triple buffering either..

Has a good tool to remove the window bar and taskbar, borderless window mode is without doubt the best way to play PC games, even more so if you have two screens.

I hook my laptop up to my external screen, and like to have the external screen display the game and the laptop screen for internet etc.. Window mode gaming allows for this..

why more developers don't do what valve do and enable it in the options. Far Cry 3 allows for borderless gaming, so much better.

Had a play again last night, everything set high. Motion Blur@medium, Lens Flares yes, V-Sync SMAA Low(X1) and it crashed twice. Got a message that said something like "DXGI-Device Removed", so the next time it happened I checked AfterBurner and the temps were 99c and 66c on my cards. Might just stick with the profile from Nvidia.

Mate that app is amazing big big thanks, so now I am playing with everything on max settings no v sync no capped fps and no triple buffering smaa 2tx and getting on level one 43 fps dropping down to 30s in parts but we all no that level one is a bit all over the place, and level 2 55fps. I am very happy with this, this needs to be tried guys if you have not al ready, and with the app that sorts the borders out its the same as full screen. AMAZING :) very happy with this

I've actually managed to get this running pretty well.

Running on very high at 2560x1440, vsync on, 60 fps on 680 sli.

I have to turn AA off, or just to 1x, with anything above that it slows to about 45fps.

Bare in mind tho people, if you run the game in window mode, SLI/Crossfire will not work.

really weird i was getting a bad fps from this hookied up to my 46" tv at 1080, but back on my pc monitor it seems a lot better at the same resolution! happier now

Yes mate, make sure you have taken of V sync in the control panel out side of the game, your FPS will shoot up but you will need to play in windowed mode to get rid of the nasty screen tearing. let me no if you get it working :)

With Vsync off in 'manage 3d settings' it just seems the same as having it on 'use the 3d application setting' and having vsync off in the game - same fps with it on app controlled and off

Surely this is correct though, it just switches it off in the game menu instead of on control panel

Cheapest place seen this so far:

CJS Keys £24.49 for standard edition with discount code A0O8RYC0DYP4C

Anyone seen it cheaper elsewhere? Preferably from a legit seller and not from some dodgy Russian site.
