Official Crysis Demo thread

Pfft, if only you had seen the fps I got on Farcry :p And that was a £2k+ rig at the time ! Performance increases will come though driver and game updates, I'm not too fussed. :)

I was hoping we'd get the full experiencing they'd been promising out of the box, especially on top end rigs. Maybe the whole reason the game was delayed a year is they new they couldn't deliver what they said on the 8800's. No coincidence that the Crysis release very close to the new range of nvidia cards.

TBH guys cevat yerli did say that 'very high' settings would bring any rig to its knees, crysis is also designed to run on next gen hardware so dont be so surprised with poor performance on highest settings with your average 8800 ;)

Huge FLOP. FPS is like 5 with 8800GTS, 2.56ghz 6300 and 4096mb memory at 1680x1050.

Go and put your money and your anticipation on a game that deserves it more, like Call of Duty 4.

Did he say that? :S you got a link to any vid or article that mentions it?

The new drivers never did anything except make trees look wierd lol. For me anyway. It did let me select 2560x1600 but everything on very high and 4x aa gives me at that resolution 1 to 8 fps. :( . The game works ok on medium AI is tough on the hardest setting and for some reson I can not see the cross hair .

I fully understand, but the 2 years forward scalability of Crysis, that's a long time in computing, basically 2X the power of today, and they have to have the options for that. I am getting slightly pessimistic about DX10 performance, though. :( I just hope the game lives up to at least some of the hype.

I was under the impression that these features that scale forward two years aren't even enableable in the engine yet, and that they will release patches for it, like the HDR one for farcry.

Just had a quick go, and like others im getting low 20's for the Framerate with Very High Settings and the new NV Drivers

Vista 64 with spec below at 3000Mhz :( 1680x1050

Thats DX9 i think aswell.

I'm just guessing atm, but I think this, in DX10 mode, will be the real-world benchmark for graphics processors in the coming generations.

Also, It's best to wait for the final game release to know how performance will be, or has it gone gold already ?
