Official Crysis Demo thread

Isnt the demo locked by a code.

Im just playing the beta with the new drivers and its running very smooth now.

Unoptimised crysis beta > optimised crysis demo :)

Seems EA are leaking customer details now aswell, this from incrysis;
Im trying to log into EA instead of taking me into my page it just starts the page again but with someone elses email. I emailed the person whose email it was and they said its happening to them to. ALso id liek to know now that EA preorderes liek myself still cant get demo how are people on this forum getting it unless there EA staffers trying to calm the hordes of P***ED "customers" . This whole debacle is horrendous. to make things worse EA site has charged me twice for preorder and I cant get in touch for refund. I will never ever again buy an EA game.

Behind the curtain wasnt a wonderful wizard but a silly fat corporate man.

Edit-
I have it running ok now with everything on high @ 2560x1200 no aa 40 to 55fps dips down to the 30s here and there.

Sounds like you got some very nice performance there, well compared to what everyone else is getting anyway:rolleyes:

really !!??? how come ??

Read the thread, people with 8800GTXs and 6600s are getting 5-10fps.
Generally the people that are complaining about its performance are expecting to play the game at absolute max everything even though the game is designed to stress hardware upto 2 years from now.

Nice try at spinning what is really a farcial situation.

Fantastic. Left my PC off for a few hours and just retried Download Manager. Still no demo, despite getting the email telling me to download it! And now I log into my EA account and there's nothing in the order history, no Pre-Order, no demo, nothing. But I'm pretty sure they-ve taken the money- So that's £30 vaporised into EA-space. And still no way to get any customer support from EA, unless anyone knows a phone number?

I may call my credit card company and get them to refund my money and they can claim it back off EA.

Everything I've read tonight on the web says demo released 26/10/07 so why is the timer on 18 hours or so?

How are people downloading it?

Screenie from 2 mins ago.

People are pre-ordering crysis from ea site and this gives them the demo 24hrs before anyone else.

Edit: Beaten to it :)

That screenshot doesnt include the google ads, which is the real reason for the site. He has the same info as the rest of us afaik

Can anyone with the demo say whether levels can be created, saved and swapped between people or not?

So where's the official release date and time. There are loads of posts on this thread talking about release times of midnight etc.

There are also loads of people playing it.

In addition to this there are millions of forum posts all over the web discussing unoptimized betas for SP and MP et, etc blah blah blah :D

Can somone in the know simply say weather I can get a demo now and where from.:)

The only place you can get the demo tonight is if you pre-order crysis on the ea site, then you get the demo tonight if not you have to wait till tomorrow.

"woot. demo out. DLing now"

"DLing too. 2hours to go"

"im DLing on 50BS. wtf? it's gonna take the hole day Sad "

"only 1 hour till demo finished to DL"

"only 34 minutes..."

"only 5 minutes. omg. omg. omg."

etc etc.

than we can see posts like:

"demo down. im installing now. 15 mins to play. woot"

and then:

"8 min..."

"demo installed. im off to play."

and then a flood of comments regarding the quality of the game ranges from:

"this game rocks!! best game ever. crysis ***"

and

"what a piece of 5h;t. worse game ever. u cant drown the turtle and make it spill out the location of the aliens"

to posts like:

"what? i cant run this on my geforce 5200?? i dont understand..."

or

"i thought this game is an MMO..."

and when everyone is done giving first impressions we will start seeing more in depth crits like:

"i think this gun is over powered"

"i think the NKs do really stupid things like they dont throw nades and flank right"

"i can't really go anywhere like i thought i would..."

"i cant run this game on my 12 months old rig. Angry"

and there will be those who will be realistic and face the inevitable fact:

"yeah. they promised a lot of things, but games are never everything they were promised to be\do"

and those who will defend the game with their life (since they bought a 1000$ rig for it):

"you dumb m0#%r fuc$@#r, this is the best game ever you console fanboy. STFU"

or

"this is only a demo. the final game will be better. can you say DEMO??"

and then the game will be out and we will all see that the faults of crysis' demo are exactly the faults of the final game but those of us who can run it will be happy with it either way.

did i miss anything? feel free to add your insights into the forum's future

Congrats, I think with everyone's contributions there's an example for nearly every point on that list.
