Official Crysis Demo thread

tbh this game has had too much hype in terms of graphics, they have pumped out a game that looks very nice but the average gamers pc wont be able to handle it and whats the point of saying its 2 years ahead of hardware, its just hype and they want to shift as many copies as they can now and in the future.

It seems the "average" pc gamer won't be able to run it at all tbh, if people with quad cores at over 3ghz with 4gb of ram and 8800's can't run it with acceptable frame rates on high :/

I dont have it yet but if the above case is true then it sucks,

It raises the question as to what the the hell all the videos we have been fed the last 6 months are running on? Are ATI/Nvidia and intel holding out on us big style and giving devs top notch hardware or have the videos been faked Shrek style

Sure awhile back, some guy took videos of Crysis at a Japanese games convention that was running a 8600GT/S (can't remember what one) But that was on medium/high at a fair resolution and seemed to run a lot better than this.

They said a 8600GTS could play it at high settings (not MAX), and said to play higher you need a better card, so that would mean the 8800's.

I will try find exact link and wording.

Possibily thats why the demo keeps getting put back and the one that peeps are grabbing is an early one, lets hope they sort it out by full game or it will be another Jericho, juiced 2.

Done using a hell of a lot of video editing and post-processing. They run the demos at a small resolution such as 1024x786, then scale up/down depending on the video size. If it lags, they use all sorts of wonderful editing tricks to smoothen the video up. Happens nearly all the time.

It'll work fine on low settings, it doesnt look that much more then farcry and most people can run that.

It starts getting really hard to run when you use high and obviously very high is for crazy people who spend 300 quid on a gfx card :p

Hacking it and running the editor in the background is making it even worse then the beta which was apparently just a debugger

8600 gts comes with upto 1 gig memory apparently?

Am I the only one that think Crysis is not that good and just a pimped farcry? There will be plenty of other games more enjoyable than crysis, tbh, I aint that keen on it, yea its graphics are awsome and you cant hardly run it, but still its nothing special :\.
