Official Crysis Demo thread

i just had a jeep shooting at me...i hid behind lots of trees.
next thing i hear is a loud explosion....came out my hiding spot and i see the jeep in flames with a tree ontop of it lol.

not sure if it was killed by the tree of maybe friendly fire from a boat in the river that could have had the jeep in its line of fire.

I used to get that, is it your first 8 meg dsl link ? Might be the 3 wire bell ring problem

The demo play's just fine at 1280x960 with medium settings! Shadows and physics were compromised and set to low, but other than that everything else is medium and I'm getting 40fps+ and it's very playable!

why does anyone instantly die when you take them to the water , that dosent feel right at all , why cant you throw a turtle and kill a grab with it , these psyics arent as good as there made out to be ,
 
I got damaged when the turtle bounced off a wall and back into my face.

Anyway, game runs well at Medium, and just about playable on High.

Any AA whatsoever kills the framerate even in the game menu lol.

Specs in sig. Pleased with it :D
 
Had a funny moment when I was scouting a checkpoint the soldier went behind a tree for a **** (6ft from me) and yes you actually see it. Anyway he wont be doing that again........
 
COD4 much better gameplay eh? If you are the type who like run and gun games cod4 will suit you just fine but its far too linear for my liking. With Crysis I like the different ways in which you can kill people and approach an objective.

Run the GPU bench and post your speed, I bet its not far off 30FPS...
 
Well, for me the game is what I expected. Great attention to detail and some amazing visuals. However in DX10 @1680x1050 I am seeing a average 15FPS again pretty much what I expected and this is with [email protected] and 8800gtx@650/1550/950 and far from what I would call playable. The command r_displayinfo 1 works as per FC and shows Renderer and FPS, so how about some shots of DX10@1900x1200 so we can see what the FPS is like on DX10,all very high! Some of the textures are pretty poor and look like they have been reused from FC and some of the rocks are just plain bland.
 
cod4 demo was ok , same old thing kill enemys plant the thing , i agree in order to make games better you have to move forward giving the player more ways to kill enemys or destructable stuff , not the same old boring fps that is just about killing

you arent meant to play it like a run and gun, 1 shot kills and stealth is where it's at :cool:

and, there is plenty ammo, just scavenge the dead
 
I still haven't played through it yet due to major sound issues - it isn't fun playing without sound as the alternative hurts your ears!

Too much cracking and popping, exactly the same as Bioshock has for me in Vista.

Makes me wonder why I bothered moving from XP!
 
When you go into invisible mode it can last several minutes if you stand still & don't move but just look around
~You can watch the AI creeping up looking for you & punch their lights out when right in front of you :p the only problem is that the instant you shoot or move you loose the cloaking effect which is a pity as then all hell breaks out:D
I would have thought a knife would be part of the kit, maybe you get one somewhere?
