I have to say (awaits a flaming), I think this is one of the few games where a Agiea PhysX GPU would actually help noticibly.............Yeah Im running dual core, yes some of you are running quad, but as more cores get fed data then the bandwidth to them drops, i.e. reports here of on -some- setups dual beating quad setups......
it *does* make more sense to pack up the geometry data into small 'over pci' packets and allow a PPU to do the difficult number crunching, removing that physics bandwidth eating data between ram and cpu2
shame they went for there own physics engine
While it -is- great, im not seeing loads of not seen in HL2, the only big thing is more destructable environments, and that at best is :S, the tree's are not anything special as far as physics goes, its just there destructable.
