Need some advice chaps on a quality HOTAS setup for DCS flight simming ( my focus would be modern jets, but I did enjoy flying warbird sims eg. At the moment I think I'm leaning toward the the Virpil VPC WarBRD-D base ( uncertain which grip ... ? VPC V.F.X ) and VPC 50CM3 throttle. Anyone have any suggestions / advice for optimising my DCS experience ?
I went with Virpil's VPC Cm3 throttle over VKB and Winwing for three reasons - zoom slider axis on the handle (vs momentary buttons on its rivals), very heavy base (no need for suckers like on the Winwing; VKB is also plastic fantastic so also moves with rapid throttle movments. CM3 never moves), no creep of the handles as well as no stiction as well as no gell/grease issues on the VPC - it does not use them.

Thanks for the advice. What do you use a flightstick / grip ?

My flightstick is a old force feedback joystick - MSFFB2. If I flew only the modern jets, I'd happily upgrade to a VKB gunfighter. Force feedback is too good to miss on vintage jets, helis and piston props though.

Just been out in the F18 for a 150 min flight at night. Have to say that FFB was very nice every with fly-by-wire.
