Official DFI NF4Ultra-D/SLi owners thread.

I've got a bit more time on my hands, but still, I'd prefer to have it sooner than later. I'm curious to why there has been this sudden shortage, it is just the high demand?

As far as I can make out it seems they released a limited number to assess any prob's, so they could do any minor mod's rather than have a dog that give's them a bad name, so hopefully when you get it, it should be good!

You're using a 3800+

At an fsb speed of 217 you're running at 2.6Ghz - which is a good top-end overclock for a Newcastle on air cooling. If you're wanting to hit the high fsb speeds, you'll want to drop down the multiplier (say to 10*260).

You can't expect the same kinds of percentage overclock from the higher-rated CPUs as from the low-end ones. Also, the Winchesters are overclocking very well at the moment, and only a very small number of newcastles can keep up.

As for the GTs - it seems surprising that they won't overclock at all... my GTs are both pretty crappy clockers, but I can still get them to 380/1100. Have you tried using rivatuner? That's the utility I'm using to change my clock speed settings.

Cheers, I'll try Rivatuner for the GT's. The whole lot is water cooled (EXOS) so I'd hoped for better than 217 (which it crashes at). I think it's my inexperience rather than the hardware :D

Can some one give me all their timings for tccd ram i've got patriot xblk but i cant set it to cas 2.5 it wont get past the bit where its verifying pool data and then saves the bios, by all the timings I mean including twr twtr tref etc basically everything in the bios for the ram section

thanks

with my tccd its everything auto other than CAS: 2.5 TRCD 3 TRP 3 TRAS 8 @ 280 (then the usual 2,2,2,8 @ stock)

sometimes i go into bios and find one or two things have automaticly changed from auto to something else  but it doesnt seem to effect anything

latest bios?

save the bios by pressing f10 rather than the save and exit way, i find it doesnt like saving ram settings when you click save and exit

EDIT: oh yea lol, everything default EG stock timmings is way to low mate

Check out the bottom post on this thread:

although tbh, i have the same trouble as you and have to use a divider with aggressive timings, rather than 1:1 with slack timings. Haven't had a proper go though yet...

These are good settings to go for. I've been using them for a while now (thanks Dave :p - I forgot who it was that posted them)

Loosening the Trrd, Twr, Twtr and Trwt down from stock to these settings there gave me an extra 10Mhz stable on the memory, and had virtually no impact on performance.

Has anyone had any probems using GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit in their DFI NF4 SLI-D.
Mine will not boot to windows with it installed. Just keeps rebooting. I have 512mb of PC2100 working fine in it at the moment so I know its the Geil RAM. I sent the GeIL back to OCUK but they wont replace it as they say it works fine?

have you tried with just one stick of ram and also try the other slots to see if that helps?
