Official DFI NF4Ultra-D/SLi owners thread.

My PC did some random rebooting during startup a week or so ago, then it just stopped. Kind of narrowed it down to the PSU, worth thinking about, but a pain to test because of having to swap all the cables over. I didn't have this luxury, but I changed just about every other piece of hardware. :)

Really really useless fact:

I wonder if we will hit 1000 posts before this thread is a month old - got 3 days to do it ;). Also congrats we have beaten those blooming Neo2 Owners :p

Soz really need bed, but got so much work on...

You're not the only one pulling an all-nighter mate.

I'm going to be at it until 5pm when my deadline is. Then I'll probably sleep myself into a coma.

I have my set up stable now!!!! And would like to try overclocking for the first time, can someone give me an idiots guide/walk through of what to do. I would like to start with the cpu speed then work my way forward from there. Be gental.

keeps rebooting? does it get to the windows load screen then soon as thats done goes black and reboots? as i occasionally get that but am yet to work out whats causing it

Yes this is the problem I have. It boots to bios ok but as its loading windows it just reboots. I couldn't install windows with the geil RAM in as well. Been using some old PC2100 stuff I had with no problems.

2.8V is more than enough for mine, any more reduces max stable overclock. TCCD is very finickety about voltage, some likes more some likes less. You have to fiddle around and memtest to find your optimum.

ok thanks dave, maybe that's my problem. i've been UPPING the voltage to increase my max speeds and get stable, but maybe i should decrease them instead. I'll try 2.8 :)

You may even find 2.5-2.6 will be more stable.

wow, ok i'll try that. Basically, mem test is failing at 2.8 and 2.9v 260 2.5/4/4/7....should it be failing? Might try 2.6 volts, or changing to 4-4-8...?

By the way, the DFI SLi boards are back in stock :D

I wish I hadn't read that, after being on a constant upgrade path last year I've had to resist the temptation of any new purchases this year, due to being skint, trouble is whenever I see these DFI sli boards I go all woozy and start tripping over things. Please tell me they're not that good,go on,they're not that good are they? :D

Yep - lots of variation from set to set.

Mine sees benefits right up to 3.0v (I haven't tested it further), but I run it at 2.9v as my CPU limits me to 3Ghz for 24/7 operation, and 2.9v is plenty for it to run at 300Mhz.

What week is yours Dave? Mine's 431...

Oh dammit, killed my DFI I think :(

Wont boot, no video, 4 lights... removed mem, gfx, HDs, sata etc and nothing.

Is it RMA time? and how long does it take from London?

If its a few weeks I will order a Ultra-D!

Yup done everything it said in the manual, safe-boot etc its not having any of it.

I Think im going to RMA it and buy a Ultra-D if there arnt any other ideas?

How long does DFi RMA take? From London UK...

Cheers Concorde
