ok this is recent from what i can tell, but my dfi ultra -d's audio skips all the time

regardless of what im doing, along with the skipping is a slight pause

im running with a x850xtpe and i know its not the cards problem

iv tried the nvidia drivers and realtek drivers, both seem to cure it for a small while but hten it comes back again.

maybe another format is required which i seem to do every 2 weeks

any tips before i do so?

anyone :(

Sorry, not a clue.. my DFI NF2 board im using right now (waitin for new board) has problems with sound, if i play games for a long time my sound crackles, stutters.. and lags terribly, im not sure if it was the sound drivers i had on CD or what, but i updated from the net and it seems to have solved it.. not entirely sure.

Tried it matey.

I've only got one stick anyway.

I tried 300x7 but no luck, started booting but then bsod and it had a nice amount of volts going through it anyway.

I'm not running 260x10 at 1.65v at 2.5-3-3-7 - Is there any timings i can do tighter than that.

I tried 2-4-4-8 with no luck, or is 2.5-3-3-7 the tighest im gonna get at 260fsb ?

Does sound like your CPU then m8y.

I had this, but only when running high OC's. I junked it and picked up a cheap 5.1live - problem (not quite) solved.

You could try:

setting PCie- to 101mhz
keep HTT under 1000
Try to re-seat the sound plug

Dissable in BIOS, do your clean install and then once you got the Nvidia chipset drivers in, then enable in bios & installthe realtek driver.

Try putting a small heatsink on the southbridge, this gets very hot after some gaming and a sink helps get rid of the stutters and crackling.

I tried a slightly bigger heatsink off an oldler board which is no longer in use, that did not help but it still got very hot.. I then turned the case on its side, directed a 92mm fan directly in front of the south bridge at an angle and it lowered the sys temp by over 10C in winbond hardware doctor, but i still got the problem.

Like i said, i have not had the problem recently.. but uncertain if it has gone.

When i found the fan didnt make a difference to the sound problem, but only temps.. i took it away and put my case back upstraight.

Well got home last night with my x300 and guess what it wouldn't boot....

Took the battery out and reset cmos and there's life - woohooo!

Booted to old windows installation ok, installing drivers as required, benched using 3d mark 01se - got about 9000, boy these x300's are fast lol.

Anyway, only problem I now have is that my adsl won't work, the light for the adsl line just keeps flashing on and off - if I connect this to my old comp light stays on as if it has found an adsl line, anyone any ideas?

Could it be something to do with the usb, do I need to swap the usb power to 5vsb? What is 5vsb?

Anyway just happy to finally have this board up and running, now just got to rma my gcard back to overclockers.

Regards,

Matt

Dont worry about the 5VSB USB - its just a jumper setting so you can enable wake on commands from a USB device (like a keyboard or mouse) to start your PC up - wholly dependent on your PSU (if it has enough amps on the special 5VSB rail), but wont help you with regards to your ADSL issue...

I havent got my mobo yet, so I cant help you specifically - sorry...

ps3ud0

pseudo,

Thanks for reply, thinking about it I may have solved my problem - well have an idea of somethig to try.

I think I received an error message along the lines of something to do with 16 bit windows susbsystem, was just happy at windows booting ignored it - lol, so I just ok'd it, will try to google this and see if I can find an answer.

Regards,

Matt

USB ADSL is a load of rubbish, buy an ethernet modem or cheapo router :P
i would say double make sure the line is ok by testing on your older computer, and install all latest drivers

if it's windows, you could always go for the mighty reformat of doom :D

Tenshi,

I have tried adsl box in other machine and this works fine, so it's just the new setup having difficulty talking to it.

Am looking into going wireless adsl soon, just need to let my bank account settle a bit - lol.

Regards,

Matt

eek,

My SLI-DR has arrived with the revision code R.A00 on the Pci slot. Is this bad news???

Mate I have read on several sites that this Rev of board should be returned straight away. :(

I would maybe ring OcUK first (if you bought it from them) if not get onto DFI forums and ask a mod there :(

Hope it turns out to be ok mate.

Just got this board and couldn't be happier!

No booting or setup issues at all.

Did a 3dMark01 as soon as it was setup and got my highest ever mark!

Even at stock I managed to beat my other score that i had as this was with a Mach II GT on my FX53 @2.9ghz and a 6800Ultra @450/1200!! :) :) :)

Stock score of:

28,018pts with FX53, OCZ Platinum 3200 rev2, X850XT :)

This system is gonna rock when I get to overclockinG!!

I just hope this memory can get to 290fsb then I'll be over the moon!

Aye, bought from overclockers on sunday, arrived Tuesday!
Thought these were all out the pipeline! :/

oh well, will send an email to overclockers :/

Weird mate, I ordered on Tuesday night and I got a R.A02 ??

I have just ordered a ultra-d from o/c ,surely if they do send me a rev A00 then they have to accept it back as DFI states that ALL revA00 should be returned to manufacture.

is there anyway to cancel an order with o/c untill i see what rev board they are going to send me ?
