****Official Doom 4 Thread****

Still a week away and that's the launch trailer. Looks like it has a bit of a story to it at least, Doom 3 so many things went by the wayside that's despite the fact id actually hired a story writer for the game yet it seemed to be missing in the final product.

It is like it doesn't know what it is trying to be - Halo, Doom, Unreal, Quake it is all crammed in there and some other random elements that remind me of Portal, Half-Life, etc. atleast dishonored did it by integrating it within its own style rather than what seems to be a random melting pot.

I decided for £22 its worth a pop despite what I said about it looking slow. Maybe im just used to the super fast pace of Doom 2. Let hope they have some nice dark background track on some of the levels a la

This is awesome! Thanks. Chunky weapon sounds and great music is what Doom is about. I wonder if someone will make a brutal Doom 3.

One thing that is annoying and cant seem to find is how to turn off the scrren cracks when you get shot

Not sure how to remedy that. Can't say it bothers me, though I can understand why it might not suit everyone.

You can alter the field of view by entering fov and whatever number you want in the console (fov 110).

^^ Going by that link, I can't say I'm too sure about what version I bought? Bought mine from CDKeys (if indeed that info does relate to different versions?).

I think that'll be the most amount of disk space I'll have used on a game so far. :eek:

Might be something to do with the idtech 6 engine. RAGE ran on the idtech 5 engine, didn't that have a hefty installation too? Maybe it's to do with the megatextures?
