****Official Doom 4 Thread****

My frames aren't bad on a 670, getting 60 most places with most things on high, it does dip in volumetric effect heavy areas though, but no issues with hundreds of demons and explosions. Honestly you could run this game on a lot worse system than yours, it even has a resolution scaling slider which would give older cards a massive gain if you don't mind the pixelation.

My refresh rate is 110hz but I tried 60hz too, didn't make a difference. V-sync off in game and forced off in nvidia drivers. :( really annoying

update: I did a clean install of windows 10 last night which rules out any software issue, but didn't make a difference.

I don't understand how I'm getting such bad performance with my system?

i7 4770k, 16gb ram, 770 gtx sli, Windows 10. For anyone that missed it. Latest drivers.

less than 50 FPS on lowest settings @1440p (apart from resolution scale). I seem to be the only one with FPS issues as well :( so disappointed.

I don't have any issues with other games so really no idea what's wrong.

770 sli you are obviously running out of vram at 1440p.

Edit just seen the 770 is 4gb, hmmm possibly not that then

I did what I always do, and looked at the negative reviews.

The theme across them seems to be:

+Pretty
+Runs well

-Nothing at all like old-school Doom
-Modern-day mechanics that are considered cheesy (regenerating health, ammo)

As someone who played Doom when it came out, but always liked Quake more, I'm not biased either way :p

Will pick it up when it hits three-fiddy :p

But there is no regen of health or ammo ?

Yeah, I'm not sure how much is on the DVD but mine took 4.5 hours to download the rest off Steam.

It is running in a low res on my A6800 and HD5850!

Must get that R9 380 installed this weekend.

DVD version needs to download about 40GB of data from Steam  PC-DVD's are no longer viable its way faster to download the whole game from Steam.

I had the same problem at first (as did many others).

There seems to be a bug with some systems running 290/390 class cards and shadows.

Try setting the game to Ultra, but then shadows to Low, you should get 60fps+ then :)

Many thanks, will give it a try later. :)

That depends on your broadband, mine top out at around 4.5 MB/s. DVD installs - on the extremely rare occasions I use them - seem to be around 30MB/s.

Some things you just cannot resist...

Boom! :D

Or turn it upside down and you've got Wood!

I'm on 3rd stage and the game is became a very big maze, I am unable to progress because I am missing some item which is not highlighted on map, running around like a headless chicken, not happy at all.
