*** Official Fallout 4 - No Spoilers Allowed ***

In your workshop you can craft a bell that will call all your comp back to you might help you find Dogmeat.

It didn't work for Dogmeat, I lost him in Santuary, rang bell and he didn't bother showing up. Turns out there is a dog house located near the "round about" in the North-ish corner of the settlement. He was napping there... silly sausage.

Bloody hell the building mode is a bit of a ball ache at times isn't it?

I tried to build up the Starlight drive in cinema place by putting a foundation and metal wall around the perimeter, I've ended up with a gap that I can't fill as I used all my materials. It looks awful I made it far too big. I don't really know what else to build in there.

I've got a wooden prefab with beds in it, managed to build one trader and assign someone to it. What is all the space for? I have no idea what to build.

That happened to me as well! I've moved his dog house to the porch so I can always find him.

artillery..its my northern firebase

I think the building mode is great when you get into it. My main base at sanctuary is now 4 floors and the top floor is the party room :)

My defense is around 120, 40 food, 50 water, all the traders and I still only enclosed around half of sanctuary. I think that the key is not to try and defend too wide an area. Half of the drive in is plenty. Although I did get the light boxes working to make my sign, it was a ball ache and took a massive amount of resources.

How far from a base can you go and still have the artillery support?

I've got one at Sanctuary - how far could I go until it won't reach?

only about 5.5 squares

sanctuary isnt a good choice as it doesnt cover much

once you get a triangle set up between the co-op, starlight drive in and greygarden you get quite a lot of coverage

Level 31 before I started finding Valentine. I totally forgot that was the main mission, I just went pass an area near that mission and thought why not.

Most of my levelling is from Idiot Savant, building and scavenging.

Also, had my first Deathclaw attack my settlement yesterday! It attacked my Drive-Thru place, thankfully it was fortified. It managed to "jump" and hit a turret that was higher than it, destroying it with 1 hit!

My main settlement is now the Castle. Such an amazing location but such a PITA for trying to arrange walls and gates on some of the faces that is open. Almost got it fully fortified. With 100 defence, I want to see someone attack to test my defence!

In the floor option of building, there is a bigger concrete block one which you can actually stack inside the ground. I have proper walls at my Castle where the blown up parts are. Hard to explain.

this..its a brilliant option to use for many building bases..its especially useful over uneven ground

I build small towers just beside any gates of these and plonk turrets on top of them

and they build beautifully straight walls as they snap to each other

and one of the robots at greygarden has a plentiful supply of concrete

So here is my predicament:

I'm in Diamond City. Accidentally shot someone so security and everyone is after me. I figured the best way to get out is to jump through a door, only this is the worst thing I could've done as it saved.

Now I spawn in and they all clip through the wall and kill me instantly. I have a bunch of chems and stimpacks but I'm too new to know what will keep me alive long enough to bail out.

Help a bro out? :o

Great tip, was struggling to find enough concrete. They really are great for walls in general since they don't take up many of the total building slots because they are so big. They also look pretty seemless with the original castle walls.

Someone above has already suggested something, but in future make sure you keep a rotation of saves to avoid stuff like this happening :)

I find Jet and Psycho are good at getting me out of sticky situations. Psycho will reduce the damage you take, and Jet will slow down time for everyone but you, meaning you should have enough time to escape.

Had a proper laugh out loud moment yesterday...

Found those guys in the suits, near the building that looks like a stage. Had the staggering mini gun at the time and when he tries to get you to give him all your stuff and you refuse, instantly unloaded on him and the game glitched so hard that he half went through the wall horizontally. Proceeded to kill all his mates and then wondered wtf the point of it was

I am reluctant to move on with the story

if I follow one path does that have knock on effects on the others

for example I have joined the brotherood of steel, does that stop me going down the diamond city route of looking for my son or joining the railroad?
