**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Anyone been to the quarry and seen the bizarre/broken looking textures on the floor and walls?

I tried to have a walk around but fell through the floor, so did the dog.

Bit the bullet and down loaded this last night have yet to play it yet anything you guys would make sure to do if you were to start again? Will take my time with this as I fully completed fo3 bar all dlc

metacritic user ratings ouch.

Wow...its getting trashed by users scores.

Quite a few of their complaints I agree with, in terms of the general polish of the game....in that while I'm not a graphics nut.....for 2015 it very much is off the mark in terms of graphical quality and animations...maybe I have been spoilt by The Witcher 3 in that respect (something I have put a lot of time into) and some valid points about putting some of the astronomical marketing money into the development.

I know its been done to death, but really in 2015..AAA games with huge budgets should have more polish...whether is be bugs, awful textures and lighting and awkward animations....and 21:9 support!

Its not the be all, end all of FO4 and I'm still enjoying it and will continue to play it, likely to the end.....just feel it could have or should have been even better.

It's a terrible screenshot to show the setting off. I'll post a comparison tonight from when in the woods. The difference is there. I've left it on ultra.

How about this?

Or this?

The difference is far more noticable in the last shot, but on low, it still looks very good. And for those getting lower FPS in heavy areas, it's a worthwhile compromise IMO.

Gfx for most interiors are shocking. Turn the pipboy light on the green glow reflects on the interiors. But turn it off they look horrific no reflections or specular highlights.

Some of the outdoor scenes are ok nothing special but not too bad but the interiors really are poor you can tell Bethesda crafted this for PS4/XB1.

PC is an afterthought here its down to when/if modders can save something from it!

Perhaps something is just broken here as the Bethesda dynamic gamma makes many surfaces flat/dull/lifeless. The surfaces to me look way worse than Fallout 3 in many places

Whilst the gunplay is much better, the combat is still clunky as hell. Just sniped someone from a distance, Suddenly 3 guys with flamethrowers just run straight at me, and of course they are much quicker. Throwing grenades and molotovs at them with absolutely no reaction, they just keep running at me until I am surrounded. Shooting their legs, no reaction they just keep running at me.

I tried changing the fov by going into the Fallout4.ini / Fallout4Prefs.ini (as well as another location), but nothing seems to have changed. What is the fov fix? The gun looks way too big.
