**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

I know what some are saying about the graphics. At times it looks amazing, others; terrible. All I can say is it's fallout. It's not like there won't be thousands of mods for it within a few months...

It is very rushed. Care about your family. Now get in this power armour and shoot this mingun!

game would be much better off if you start the game with your character waking up in the vault. No family, nothing. Just go out and play the game. Then you find out about the different factions and what is going on.

This is the main area that New Vegas excelled. You start off basically being left for dead with a trail to follow... If you want. It is basically a side quest though. The main story progresses as you wander about. You don't have any agenda forced on you by the game makers. You can even start working for the bad guys if you want.

I couldn't care less about the main character's kid or his motivations. They shouldn't have tried to make me.

I completely agree. FO3 and FO4 (from what I've seen), both seem to force a story on you expecting you to have formed emotional attachment to characters from all of 10 mins of gameplay, if that. New Vegas was very much hands off in that respect. "Mate, you got shot in the head but it's up to you what you want to do."

Am i stuck my character I created or is there any way to mod? Kind of regretting having a character that looks like miss piggy.

Have not tried it but I spoke to a doctor in the main town and he said go through that door for "facial reconstruction" so maybe that's what you're looking for. There's a barber in the same town too.

So I had a quick go last night, So far I've had some issues before I even started game play, from menu where it crashed and had a popup saying the PC had run low on memory (I've got 8GB Ram 1600mhz, debating swapping it for 16GB 1333mhz ram I had lying around). Also struggled to get it to run in 5760x1080 (tried editing the fallout pref file in both the install directory and Documents folder). So dropped down to 1080p and played fine for 2 Hrs, then randomly crashed. I realised it was 12:30am and went to bed! Gonna have a play tonight with http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/102/? that I saw linked earlier on this thread and see how we go.

Feeling the same about the main story, I really have no interest in following it and in all fairness going from what happens in the vault to being in power armour and shooting down a deathclaw happens way too quickly.

Story seems a bit off for me... also only posting at the moment because my save CTD's the second I try load it.:mad::mad:

Possible spoilers if you're in to discovering every location yourself, but if not:

The bar from Cheers, complete with a dead postman. :D

I can kind of understand the complaints about the main story but why does anybody care really? Its completely optional isnt it? Just go and explore and do whatever you want, forget about the nagging wide and crying kid if thats what you want to do! Thats the beauty of these sort of games, the first couple of times i played through oblivion and skyrim I did hardly any of the main questline. It has no effect on the game.

Although the graphics and interface are a bit clunky at times I'm really enjoying the game. building and crafting etc could have been explained better, had to seek internet help. Can see me putting in a lot of hours.

Witcher 3 dare I say, was slightly boring to me. I liked the main story line and the graphics were great however I had zero interest in exploring or actually being a witcher.
It had zero excitement outside the main quest for me. In fallout you never know what's going to happen or what your actions will do in the world. I felt the witcher 3 was a bit predictable. Just my view.

How do you repair power armour? I'm carrying about a left arm, and finding it impossible to repair. It says I cant transfer it back over until it's repaired:confused:

How does it run on a 960 GTX 2gb? Not sure to PS4 or HTPC it

I have a GTX960 4GB and a Xeon E3 1230 V2/Core i7 3770. I am running at Ultra settings at 1680X1050 and apart from some slowdowns,it seems generally playable.

You need to dock it in the dock at the Rocket Garage or in Santuary.

You do this by moving as close as possible next to the frame, and then leaving your suit. Click on the dock and there should be an option where you can repair and mod the parts of the suit.

You need to have an exoskeleton mounted in the power armor bay, then press E and hover over the part in your inventory and press T iirc on the part that needs repairing then you can mount it on the exoskeleton.
