**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

This just worked for me!

1. Download Nvidia Inspector from
http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/nvidia-inspector-download,4.html

2. Click the Wrench Icon to bring up the Profile Settings window.

3. Under Profiles, click the dropdown and select 'Fallout 4'

4. Under Compatibility, change the setting for "SLI compatibility bits (DX1x)" to
"0x080200F5 (Max Payne 3)" by clicking the dropdown next to it.

5. In Nvidia Inspector, scroll down to the SLI section.

6. Here is what you need to change under SLI:

Number of GPUs to use on the SLI rendering mode = SLI_GPU_COUNT_TWO
(You can select FOUR if you have four graphics cards in SLI mode. Select accordingly.)

NVIDIA predefined number of GPUs to use on SLI rendering mode = SLI_PREDEFINED_GPU_COUNT_AUTOSELECT

NVIDIA predefined SLI mode on DirectX 10 = SLI_PREDEFINED_MODE_DX10_FORCE_AFR2

8. Run the game and enjoy the increase number of frames per second!

Sorry if repost

I set mine to two cards and not three. 100fps now maxed with 99% usage both cards.

They seriously need to make it so that during conversations you can't be interrupted. Not exaggerating, I have been trying to talk to a character for the main plot for over 20 minutes now, but he keeps seeing a vertibird flying overhead(not even overhead tbh. It's nowhere near us) and says 'we're not alone'. It isn't the first time it's happened either. The annoying thing is you have to start the dialogue again every time he comes back!

Edit- ffs. He's following the vertibird half way across the bloody map. This is ridiculous!

Yeah it happens with dogmeat too, he'll keep moving away and you have to try and move the camera with him but then it snaps back and forth again, super annoying. As much as I liked being free to move around while talking they really do need to snap the conversation in place to a certain degree to stop that sort of thing.

What setttings are people running with a 290x? Rest of system in sig.
I've been running all on ultra except God rays on low and the 3 sliders maxed at 1440p. Limited my fps to 60 and all was good bar a few drops into the 50s.
Get the Diamond City and fps tanks
Loving the game but I am considering waiting for patches for a driver update before continuing at the mo

Talking about Dogmeat, I kinda lost him lol. Sent him back to Sanctuary (or so I thought) but he's not there, looked at the Red Rocket; also not there. Don't want to use the console command to get him back in case it stops my achievements??

I'm a bit stuck for where to go on the main questline, was wondering if someone could help me out.

Contains some spoilers

I'm doing "The molecular level"

I killed the courser, and got the chip from his head. I spoke to the scientist lady. She sent me to some statue or something and there was a message that said A2 or something like like.

I went off and did other things, but now, I have no idea where to go, and I cant even find that statue again. There is no waypoint on the map to visit when I make it my active quest, and the quest information just says "find the railroad" which isn't very helpful lol

I had to do it with Nick, console command to get him back didn't stop the achievements, they're some dog kennels around Sanctuary which he might be in, have you checked them?

follow the Freedom Trail. It starts in the park bit and is a red line going along the ground. It leads you to the Railroad

Anyone getting owned by feral ghouls?
I'm getting raped by them loads and am sick of having to fix Dogmeat when he gets dropped as well. Are they as hard as I think they are or do I just suck?

You can just leave dogmeat and he will recover.

As for Ghouls, the combat shotgun works well. Aim at their legs and they drop easily. If there is a big group then a molotov coctail should sap a lot of their health. You can also funnel them through a doorway or between 2 cars and throw the cocktail in their path.

Balls, really? Must have wasted about 10 stimps on him.

Great stuff thanks, got a decent amount of ammo for the DB Shotgun but have been trying to shoot them in the face.

Quick 10 minute stint, everything Ultra(except god rays, think thats on high).
Min 59, Max 61, Avg 59.793FPS

Inside a town, fighting a pack of ghouls.

Will try it for longer. :)

Could be worse. I had to speak to that minuteman guy in sanctuary, and he thought it would be a good idea to perch himself on a house roof. Had to jump around to finally be able to talk to his feet :D

Got fallout 4 today and its ran flawlessley max settings with godrays on high. 9 hours of gameplay and I never ran into a single bug, kinda shocked me as I was expecting issues going by some people's comments. Brilliant game. Minimum 60 FPS. Love the game.

In the end I went with the recommended settings in GFE, as one or two things like godrays were causing too frequent drops in fps (when in areas like large towns). This is what I'm using now, runs lovely. :)
