**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Only 60Hz, but was investigating whether or not letting it push a bit beyond 60 would help it feel less judder-y

Yes, it probably will help with that.

However, the reason I asked what I did was because I've read about people that have had the same problem, but then managed to sort it by altering the frequency, e.g. 120hz dropping down to 60, then back up to 120 once all is okay.

Near bunker hill monument my fps tanked big style! :( 780Ti has run its course in this game @ 1080p. :( Gonna turn everything down to High settings. One plus is the game has not crashed on me so far. Will see what the Brotherhood Of Steel is like in this game tomorrow night, its all about that tech ;)

Spoiler!

Edit: just noticed I quoted instead of spoiler tags like a derp.

It's awesome though, that's where my FPS dropped when I was playing, gave it a quick restart and it was happy as larry, quite odd.

Have you tested to see if there's much difference? The known bug on Elite has put me off of trying them.

I've just given it a quick try myself and can't see any difference. I didn't have time for an extensive test and haven't compared with any kind of accuracy, but went to a place where my FPS was dropping to 30-40 earlier today and its basically just the same.

Cool, although I guess that's not an option for me... I may just have to turn the cap back on unless I can work something else out

In Sheep's clothing. Classic Bethesda botched quest.

Piper is trying to break down the door of the Mayors office. She says "there must be another way in"... So I pick the lock(I know you can open it another way) . 'Piper disliked that' sigh... Plus another message says the owners are now hostile apparently. So I enter the room and the mayor is holding his secretary hostage. I persuade him to let her go and he attacks me... And so does the Secretary because I picked the lock!

Bethesda ladies and gentlemen.

So so trying to enjoy this, I keep coming back to it, but then stopping about an hour later due to boredom :( I've enjoyed every Fallout, playing until the early hours but this? What have Beth done

There's button under the desk, i found it after 10 seconds of looking...

Enjoying this game.

I feel like a space marine in my power armor. Walk into a room, rip the place apart with my gatling laser, then charge into the stragglers, smashing them to the ground and pulping them with my super sledge.

I'm so overpowered I've not used a stimpack in about 10 levels.

I was getting serious tanking of FPS, from 72 to mostly 22-25 but some areas down to the teens.

Did a bunch of playing around with various settings. Finally got it down to shadow distance. Every area that tanked hard, every single one, just putting shadow distance to medium flicked everything up to 72fps(144hz screen with v-sync maxing out at half).

Hit low preset because medium locks out some choices without you knowing. IE if you hit medium preset then set god rays to off in advance.... they stay on, because it's retarded. Hit low preset then anything you change in advance sticks.

I played with every freaking setting till I found that in certain areas high shadow distance was killing it. From what I've seen as well, ultra shadows look good, medium shadows look good, high looks crap. It goes really blurry and soft. Medium looks like marginally lower quality than ultra, high looks like entirely different shading style that frankly sucks.

High shadow distance my 5820k had no thread more than maybe 50% but my GPU was dropping from 90% usage to 35-40% usage and sub 25fps in certain areas.

Oh well, I'm the type of guy who will never settle down
Where pretty girls are well, you know that I'm around
I kiss 'em and I love 'em 'cause to me they're all the same
I hug 'em and I squeeze 'em they don't even know my name

They call me the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around

Ive managed to build a weapons, trade and armour stall in my settlement but how do I put traders on them? I can assign anyone to do it but they have nothing to sell if I do?

They dumbed it down into a shooter that's what. Just pretend you're playing Serious Sam it's much more fun.
