**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

So so trying to enjoy this, I keep coming back to it, but then stopping about an hour later due to boredom :( I've enjoyed every Fallout, playing until the early hours but this? What have Beth done

Not surprised, you have been out to hate the game before it was released. You set yourself up for disappointment. Lol

Sure it was not as good as Fallout 3, but still a hell of a lot better than what else is out there. Enjoy it for what it is, simple. I enjoyed it more the Witcher 3 which I thought was good.

Have you even attempted the main story at least? Lol

They dumbed it down into a shooter that's what. Just pretend you're playing Serious Sam it's much more fun.

Yeah, I hate it when developers do this, I enjoyed Fallout 3 system much better. Still though, very enjoyable game. Hope they take the feedback and bring back some of the stuff in their next game.

I What I was actually asking(not very well) was whether the temporary point given by the armour made any difference at all, as I know points given by armour do not affect what perks you get.

I wasn't thinking about xp at all when I made the character tbh. The perks are wjat interested me as I want ed to play as a hacker.

I'm going to test how much difference the armour makes to xp gain by discovering a new location and then loading again without it on.

Edit- it makes a difference, though discovering a new location wax probably too small an amount to really gauge how much tbh. Normally I got 51xp, with a +1 int hat I got 52!

I'll stop wearing it then... And I've passed up much better armour because of that extra int point!... In New Vegas you would kill for an extra point in intelligence!

well it will help in a sens eyou get more xp as +1 per and + 1 chr will help with seeing threats and conversations respectively.

So I played it for about 3 hours yesterday evening. At about level 10. I'm enjoying it a bit more now, but IMO it's not in the same league as F3/NV/Skyrim. I remember going up to the top of F3's map and randomly finding the dude that had merged with a tree. There's just nothing like that so far. To me F4, is just a linear shooter with a large map. It's like they forgot to add all the NPCs and dynamic world. I never see people wandering about. In 12 hours, I've seen one trader, and I think 4 random groups of settlers - I don't think I've seen a single NPC just wandering around.

I think they've gone for some crazy faction war. I stumbled on to a group of Gunners on the highway, and it wasn't until I finished off most of them that I realised there were raiders too.

I'm not a fan of the power armour. I don't like vehicles in games for some reason, I never have. I never used cars in stalker, and the Atlas in ME3 is fun for a bit, but I prefer being on foot and using my own tech. I guess I need to remind myself that the power armour is not the same as the BOS stuff in F3...

Nope still not getting the framerate to unlock at all without the terminal bug - I tried adding a custom setting to Nvidia inspector for 100 fps as that's what a lot of people have been saying fixed the terminal bug for them, but I still get it... I also get it if I set it for 75 fps... Haven't tried 60 as I thought it didn't make that much sense unlocking the framerate only to lock it back to 60 again...

Can someone who has unlocked the framerate successfully let me know what you had to do? Anything other than iPresentInterval=0?

Have you tried using RTSS (RivaTuner) to set the FPS at 60/75, that will also help, I personally ledt the parameter as it was and then set V sync on.

Swan. I **** my pants when I stumbled right into it head first

I don't have RTSS installed but I've tried limiting the frames to 75 and to 100 in Nvidia Inspector and although I could see it was successfully locking the frames to what I had set (using various frame counter overlays) and the game felt a lot nicer and smoother I still randomly get that bug with the terminals...

I could try RTSS I suppose but is it really doing anything different to Nvidia Inspector?

Keep playing, it will reward you in unexpected ways.

i did the same above + i locked my FPS to 100 in afterburner and not inspector..

since then ive had zero terminal bugs!

I had that bug last night during the first mission you do at the police station. Had to get a password from a computer but once you get it and leave the computer you're stuck.

Very annoying but only bug I've had in about 11 hours so far.

Played a tiny amount again. I'm not finding much of an appeal anymore, scrounging is kind of fun, building weapons is kind of fun. The inventory system is just a cluster ****. I've tried to care about building bases, I don't... I want to play Skyrim 10x more than this. It's a real shame.
