**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

So finally got the bobbleheads, planned to build a small stand for them, ended up building a 3 floor warehouse to house all my power armour (currently at around 40 in total :o ), weapons and bobblehead. All in a Vanilla game without mods otherwise would have made the thing much bigger :D Maby once I complete the story.

Exterior - Not the most exciting, but ran out of build space and materials. Also called the core, probably as I was grabbing so many of them Fusion cores! Also anything bigger takes so many generators to light up

Floor 1 - Bobblehead stand with all the bobbleheads. Flanked by 3 T-50 Power Armor suits. Also in the room 10 more T-60's and 4 X-01 Power Armour suits. All complete except two of the X-01's :(. sadly not far into main story so hopefully I can buy the parts or something

Gets right addictive settlement building :D Took about 5 hours scavenging the materials, buying and selling etc as I had most of it already from random roaming.

I think the addition of the settlement stuff is excellent, but gathering all of those materials would be too much of a pain for me. Especially with my low strength (low carry weight) character.

Been playing around with the Intimidation perk. It really has potential, but just isn't taken far enough imo. As it is it is basically a glorified mind control spell. The option to subdue enemies in some way would make it epic, and the perfect charisma based perk. I am not sure if you can actually use it in quests to get alternative ways of completing quests, does anyone know?

Yeah this settlement building, too addictive, started off thinking meh, then it spiralled :D

Are there really that many suits???? If so, that has turned me off the game big time :(

In normal circumstances I don't think people will gather this many, in a normal play through possibly 5-6 I would have guessed. Usually the under frame needed is quiet expensive(ish) 3500 caps a pop for each suit which aside from a few you need to buy, even with my Charisma at 10. Also not all of them are upgraded, that in itself would be another feat.

As for the actual Power Armour itself, without spoiling it, there are often random faction battles. I let everyone kill each other and pick up the suits :D

I've played a hell of a lot and I've come across 5.i don't pick bodies after faction battle though(they really need to be toned down... I've said before it is ridiculous how many vertibirds fly, and especially crash throughout the map)

How'd you get your building to be so large? Do you stack structures ontop of one another? All I've managed to build is a small room, don't even have the foggiest how to make them that wide too, do you unlock more structure designs or something?

Surprised you could fit that many items in. Must have taken a while!

My house is 2 stories. IIRC just build your walls then use floor as your ceiling. I have stairs going up on the outside of mine so I went up them and kept building upwards

Nope, everything is available from the onset. Start with laying the foundation located in the wood section then floor. Lay the one and then the others will snap along next to it. The great thing about the foundation layer is it can raise and lower slightly so it can take in to account rough / differing height terrain. So when you pick a piece of land to work on, pick the point that's the highest, then every other piece can snap next to it with the foundation automatically adjusting to the rough terrain.

Start with:

Get a few done then next I placed the stairs. Located under Structures then wood once again.

Walls in place:

Now you can snap the second layer floor around the stair well or walls. I used the "Shack upper floor" located under Structure --> Wood --> Floor for the second and subsequent floors.

And done :) A simple 2 floor house. Obviously for the bigger structure, same idea but on a bigger scale and using a shed load of materials

Heh to be fair I razed all the other homes in the area which freed up some items capacity. Alas I would have forgone the beds and put in a pool table, but needed some for the citizens :p

Tried the nexus mods SLI fix with the Max Payne profile but doesn't seem to do much for me, FPS actually seems to go down a bit and frame times are horrid, feels like I am running at 20 FPS.

Roll on official update!:D

Have gathered that playing a more sniper build, you dont seem to be able to shoot through branches etc, which is highly annoying :(

VATS will show that it is possible to hit a target, yet i aim normally, and manage to completely miss, though aiming at the chest through maybe a twig with a leaf on it :(

Is making playing a styealthy / sniper class that bit more difficult as what seems to be a clear shot, actually isnt and i have to go more into the open to be able to make a shot

I'm yet to see a Vertibird that hasn't crashed. I can only assume that the Brotherhood ran out of skilled pilots to the point where there are none to either fly or train others.

If you trade with them you can put the item in their inventory and then press T to make them equip it. Same for weapons (and they only need a few bits of ammo as they don't use it)

Thanks. Now I need to build up a selection of clothing or armour, enough of each of enough types to identify settlers. I've been scrapping what can be scrapped and selling everything else.

It definitely is, I'm pretty sure I didn't get it from a book as the only settlement book I have is for lights. It's in the same section as the Brahmin feeder which I'm sure is under resources->Miscellaneous.

In that section, I have scavenging station, brahmin feed trough, bell, siren, fast travel target.

I worked around the problem by selecting and moving a pre-existing kennel.

Really enjoying this game so far, up to level 20 at the moment.

Had a couple of good moments, a raider was chasing me with a flamer and I turned around to try shooting him and saw him being ripped apart by a deathclaw!

I spent far too much time and ammo at level 11 fighting a higher level radscorpion using only a modded pipe gun because .38 was the only ammo I had plenty of. Lots of running away and shooting.

After I had almost killed the radscorpion, a molerat spawned, attacked the radscorpion and killed it. So I got no experience. I was hoping that the molerat would use all the levels it should have gained from that much xp to level its intelligence and start talking to me :)
