**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

I spent the first 25 hours of this game not knowing that you could scroll on the perk tree. After someone at my work told me this, I started a new playthrough as I didn't want to play with a borked character. :) I could have played on but I'm pernickety about stuff like this.

Now another 20 hours in on my new character and still enjoying it massively. Can't wait to play the season pass content and play on an upgraded monitor. :)

You can use the console to respec! :)

I know I did after I realised I could put points into the talents around level 18 lol.

Does anyone know if you making a modification for your gun, and it uses a deskfan for parts, i.e. 2 Gears, will the parts not used in the modification be added to your inventory or do you miss out on them ?? Deskfan if dissemble it gives 2 Gear, 2 Screw and 2 Steel - so will the 2 Screw's and 2 Steel, be added to inventory ? Or should one dissemble all stuff outside of the workshop benches to get the most out of all stuff ??

Plus the Stalker Lightning preset and I'm sorted for now unless Bethesda do asnything miraculous with updates.

I may have a freaky CPU but I've never done anything up to 4.2GHz apart from set the turbo multipliers and it stays in the 40s on air. Above that I have set a fixed voltage of 1.18v for 4.4GHz but I've not messed with mine beyond that.

That's on a Gigabyte Z77x-UD3H board.

they get wasted.

best thing is go to a settlement

drop everything on the flor and use the R button to scrap it that way you get it all.

Thanks, I was afraid that was the case. :( .. That gonna take some extra time then, but rather do that then missing out on stuff that might be needed. Ahh well, maybe someone come up with a mod for that later on when G.E.C.K. is out. :)

be careful though if you drop too much stuff it tends to fall through the ground.

would be ncie if they added say a scrapping bench so it could be done through inventory.

also some kind of decent inventory sorting for crafting ie tabs with weapons mods ammo etc rather than just a massive list.

I thought I saw earlier in the thread that you do get them, but they don't show in the workbench till you come out of crafting then go back in
Ok, I try and do some experience later when I have any addons to make to the weapons or such. Thanks. =)

I actually didn't drop everything at once, did maybe around 20-25 at a time, didn't want to have to much clutter on the ground. :p

Yes, would be great with a Scrapping Bench and done through inventory, since some items gives another pcs of scrap that has to be broken down further.

Not sure if I follow you here but when you go into any of the stations it starts with a massive list with everything then you can just shift through the different menus seeing what is what when it comes to weapons, mods, ammonition, junk and so on. Unless you thinking of something else ?

just loaded u pto check, oh dear god how did i not notice the little arrows to scroll thorugh menus. >.<

Can you scrap items such as raider leathers, for some reason I seem to be able to scrap certain things but not others?

most things can be scraped but the odd thing, like red bandanas for some reason cant be scrapped.

gues they just missed some things on the lists

Finally decided to construct my first building and finding it more restrictive than I hoped. I'm using wooden walls but can't put a door straight into a wall so have to use a section with a door frame, but this doesn't seem to clip onto the edge of the foundation like the other walls and has to clip to the front. And windows, I can't find windows...

This sucks the big one if this is the case. I was wondering why I was super low on Fiber Optics, probably wasted from microscopes when using something else from them!

It's going to take quite a while to breakdown the stuff in the work bench :D

i just use a scrap mod.

all i have to do is open console and type in bat craft and i get 1000 of all the main components :D

same with ammo, im just lazy.

Just bought the game, installed it on steam, when I launch it it doesn't allow me to click anything. Like my mouse isn't plugged in, any tips?

Specs in sig in case that matters.

just me or do there seem to be too many settlement lcoations.

i never get round to building one up as im always waitingto see if thers a better one think im likley to finish the gme befroe i actually build one :/

also just me or does it seem to have gone from choices of how you solve quests to the only choice being which quests you take?

I'd forgotten about one of the settlements where I was told to build a radio becon in an earlier quest, just noticed there are 8 people living there with a happiness of about 5. They have one bed and nothing else, felt a bit bad...
