Maximum size smartphone for the Pipboy will be 141.2mm x 71.6mm x 10.2mm without using any foam.

Fallout 4 on Xbox One supplied with a free code for Fallout 3 on Xbox 360! I can barely contain my indifference! :p

Also when the second batch of Pip Boy editions went live, some websites crashed...... :D

Does anyone know if I can buy a boxed copy, add it to my Steam library and get patches from Steam as usual?

I like the convenience of Steam, but £50 for a download from Steam when the standard price for a boxed copy is £38 is an unreasonable difference, especially considering that the cost of providing the download is a fraction of the cost of providing a boxed copy. Charging the same price and therefore jacking up the profit margin is bad enough, but charging >30% extra is insulting. I'm pretty sure my optical drive still works.

Buying a boxed copy will result in you having the exact same copy that's available directly on Steam. This is the case with all games that use Steamworks.

Even cheaper on key selling websites.

Time to cancel my pipboy edition then if the S6 doesn't fit.

The Pipboy looks excellent but I think will be a PITA to physically wear it while playing. Other than trying it out for 5 minutes I reckon most people will use the app standalone on their phone/tablet and the Pipboy will either go on display on a shelf or sit in a box gathering dust (and value :))

Even more true for me as a left hander, wearing it on my right arm won't be quite the same. It'll look just as awesome on my shelf though!

In my experience it will be a day or two before release to get it to you on release day. But why would you want to pre-load it anyway? You don't download the game, just install it from discs through Steam.

I remember when me and my housemate both went out and got Black Ops on release day.

Took me about 40m to download off steam, took him over that from the disk.

I was late to FO series, I started earlier this year with NV and loved it, just started FO3 these last few days and whilst it's awesome I think I prefer NV, not a fan of endless subway stations and buildings to clear, much prefer the wasteland style feel of NV.

Fallout 3 crashed on two of my systems like there's no tomorrow so I think I barely got through about the fifth of the game before frustration set in. Hoping to be able to sink my teeth into this as I do like the setting.

to make fallout 3 work you have to download the unofficial patch on nexus and then edit the fallout.ini file, info on steam forums

I downloaded Fallout Shelter on my Ipad. Its quite an addictive little game.

I bought £3 worth of lunch boxes for the heck of it. Didn't get any dwellers sadly, but I got a couple of weapons and some outfits, including two legendary sets of power armour :)

Going along those lines, I think that they're running out of time for Fallout. Time in the gameworld, I mean. A big part of the Fallout story is the wasteland. A lawless wasteland with a few small pockets of civilisation, usually rough and ready. It might be a countryside wasteland and it might be an urban wasteland, but it's a wasteland. The scarcity of civilisation is a key part of the games, but by Fallout: New Vegas very large areas are under the control of civilisations. The established timeline suggests continued expansion of this as people re-establish civilisation. If the continue moving forward in time, they could end up with nothing left but another wargame. New California Republic vs Caesar's Legions, maybe. Then we have Fallout: Call Of Duty.

I'm sort of hoping they'll go overseas. Fallout: New London? Fallout: New Sydney? It would expand the scope without having to advance the timeline, since they could make several games set in the same time period in the gameworld.

+1 Wife downloaded this to her iPad and really enjoying it. Got to watch you don't get suckered into the "freemium" PAYG scam but unlike some of the ilk this seems fairly generous with what it gives you. As a direct result she's just bought FO3 for the PS3 (I couldn't interest her in using my PC version) and is quite keen on getting FO4 when it comes out (so that will be PC version for me, PS4 for her - deathmatch??? :D:D:D ).

I lost the feel for Fallout 3 after I got to a big building (library/museum?) from which I exited and got mauled by the guards in suits. I think I stumbled around for a while trying to find out where I was supposed to go, realised I couldn't remember my purpose, and quit :(

I should really go back to it. Not heard a bad review about it.

I don't think the QuakeCon gameplay is being streamed so you'll need to physically be there to see it. No doubt we will get to see it at some stage, but doubtful for the 24th.

We will be seeing FO Shelter on Android mid-August. Exact date still TBC.
