This came though the post this morning - free t-shirt for being one of the first 10,000 pre-orders for the Pip-Boy edition.

Might hang it on the wall above the mini nuke :D

i haven't looked at this game much because i couldn't get into 3 but how much different is this game gonna be over 3 accept a better engine behind it and new story. having played oblivion and skyrim theres not a lot of differences between the 2, not from what i saw anyway.

Compared to Fallout 3 there is going to be even more to do such as building, more in depth weapon crafting and hopefully a lot more to explore than before. But essentially it's going to be another Bethesda RPG, so if you didn't get in to Fallout or the Elder Scrolls games then Fallout 4 will be no different, other than the graphics will look a lot prettier.

Thoughts on my chances of running this at 3440x1440?

System Spec:

i5-2500
GTX970
16GB ram

RAM and GPU should be fine, but the recommended CPU spec seems quite high!

is it worth buying this yet? or are people holding out hoping for a last min amazing price from somewhere?

Yeah I thought that. Is your CPU overclocked? Im hoping to be able to run at 4k with 40-50fps on max with my setup. Hope so, I can run Arkham knight at 45fps-50fps with about 1480mhz on the 980Ti and it looks fantastic in 4k this is with AA on too!

It's a non-k, so running at stock.

I can run TW3 fine at mostly Ultra (albeit locked to 30fps - it does run smoothly at 30 though), hoping this isn't any more demanding than that!

Hrm, wondering if my PC will run this OK. :/

If it struggles I may just buy a console. Really don't want to upgrade again just yet! (got the GTX970 for TW3) :(

Why are people so startled by recommended specs all of a sudden, it's like your not even PC gamers! :p They've always been woefully inaccurate and are designed for only the worst case scenarios. I'm below recommended (albeit not really 'cause OC'd 7850), but I'm still expecting to run at fairly high settings 1080p/60fps, based off all the other recent titles where min/rec specs were ridiculously high for no apparent reason (e.g., GTAV (very high), TW3, Battlefront, etc...)

1440p on full whack, perhaps not but I don't think you're going to be having much issue. You still have a very capable system (very similar to mine).

I dunno...

TW3 recommended = i7 3770
GTA V recommended = i5 3470

Both quite a bit lower than the FO4 recommended of i7 4790

Sure they're probably over-speccing quite a bit, but I know at some point my 4 year old CPU is going to start struggling :p

I have never even bothered to look a games requirements before but I love the Fallout series so want to run it well and in the future with mods.

Yeah your right TW3 does play smooth when locked to 30fps.
